My favourite summer childhood memory is rainy fishingtrips with my dad.
No fish, just the rain, him and me and secret chocolate.
Have a nice summerevening!

My favorite memories are going down to California every summer to visit our grandparents - we would spend hours upon hours in their pool! We loved it!

Sitting under the oak trees feeling the breeze from the lake swaying the spanish moss hanging from the branches and devouring a stack of books!

So many great summer memories to choose from! One that really stands out in my mind as I play a lot of board games this summer with my kids is the marathon Monopoly games with my siblings. We would save the board in the laundry room, on top of the dryer, for the next day, and the game could last a week or more.

Carefree days-at the playground program, at the playground and at the pool-all at the same spot-morning to night without a care in the world.

In my childhood we spent lots of summerholidays in France, while none of us spoke French. Year after year that created funny mishaps, which we still laugh about. Sitting on a terrace, waiting to be served and then discovering we were sitting on someones private terrace. Trying to find a hotel and following the sign L' Hotel de Ville, and be amazed at it's beauty when finally there. However they didn't rent any rooms as L' Hotel de Ville means City Hall in French. That kind of stuff LOL.

My favorite childhood memory is with my grandmother, who will be 95 this Fall. I am her youngest grandchild, and she always doted on me. She would take me to the local playground, push me in the swing and sing "how high to go up in the swing" to me. After a few rounds on the merry-go-round, she would take me to the neighborhood gas station for an icee. Each summer I make sure I get an icee to "relive" the special bond between me and Granny!

When I was a child, me and my sister played outside all day long during the summer. I guess it never occurred to us that it was too hot. My mom bought us a stock tank as a splash pool and a blow up plastic canoe... we would use a long stick as a paddle and get in and take turns being princess tiger lily and peter pan.

My strongest summer memories always seem to involve the community swimming pool. I remember all of the short cuts to get there, buying granny smith apples on the walk home, fighting for the best spots on the hot pavement during adult swim, the wave of kid cannonballs when adult swim was over... It was always about that swimming pool!

I was lucky enough to live grow up with a beach, so it would have to be going to the beach with mom and eating her tuna salad sandwiches and making sandcastles!

One night I put cicadas in my mom & dad's bed...my mom has always been terrified of them. She screamed and woke the whole house up, but we can now laugh about it! :) I'm sure my girls will come up with plenty of ways to torture me, so it will all even out!

Playing in the creek behind my cousin's house. It was down a little hill and had a high bridge. It always felt so adventurous and dangerous!

By far, my favorite summertime memory is catching fireflys in a glass jelly jar. They would come out just at dusk and my friends and I would run around the back yard catching them and studying them in the jar. This is a memory I passed along to my boys when they were younger, and they had just as much fun as I did!

Mine is going to Cherokee NC to see the Indians! We always went there and stayed a couple of days. It was great to get to see other cultures that was so close to us and learn about them. Now I take my niece and nephew there to learn. Brings back sooooo many memories!
