My favorite was having gone to bed with a sick migraine when I was around 11, and waking up (feeling MUCH better) to a really quiet house and neighborhood. When I woke up the only noise was from someone a few blocks away mowing their lawn, and there was a cool, gentle breeze blowing the curtains.

My favorite childhood summertime memory is eating popcicles so cold your teeth chattered while jumping in and out of the kiddie pool (in our front yard, of ocurse) under the burning sun.

My parents had an 80 degrees rule, meaning that we couldn't play in the sprinklers unless it was 80 degrees. They did not bend. My sister and I would sit and stare at the big thermometer outside, willing it to move up to 80 degrees. Those moments from 78 to 79 to finally 80 were loooong! I don't actually remember playing in the sprinkler as much as I remember *willing* the thermometer to hit 80!

My most favorite summertime memory from childhood is riding around in my pop's old blue truck with him. He'd try to get me lost by taking backroads and having me try and figure out where we'd end up. I credit that with my excellent inner compass today :)

My favorite childhood memory is playing with friends after dinner - all the neighborhood kids would gather for tag, or any other silly, crazy game we could come up with and play until after dark - or our parents would call for us to come home!!! Remember those days?!

My fave summer memories involve me and my sister having swim races in our parents' pool. We really had a blast swimming every summer.

My favorite childhood summertime memory has to be just laying in the sun and reading. I would just devour books all summer long, only breaking when I couldn't stand the heat any longer and had to go jump in the pool to cool off.

My favorite summer time memory..this is going to sound weird. I have been volunteering, working, or/and in school every summer since 1995 until this year (and actually, i'm working on getting a job for the summer). Anyway, my favorite memory is last year when I started Ohio State. It was a long process and I love going to school in the summer when the teachers are more laid-back, the weather is nice, the class sizes are smaller, etc. :)

My favorite childhood memory is playing outside with the neighbors. We were out all day and all night, riding bikes, going through the sprinkler and eating ice cream with my friends dog Blue.

My sisters and I used to place a little swimming pool right at the end of our slide and then we had the biggest fun sliding down and splashing as much water as possible. Too bad, my parents didn´t take any pictures.

As a kid I loved going to a place we called the Blue Hole. I was a tiny natural lake created from a creek. Cold water! I wish I could go back now.

My favorite childhood memory is made up of the many summer evenings my friends and I spent catching lightening bugs in the peach orchard behind our house. I remember my parents telling us that the electric company was giving a reward to the people that caught the most lightening bugs as it could save everyone money as they could use the lightening bugs to provide light. Wow, looking back I think how clever my parents were to keep us occupied for hours while they could enjoy the neighbors' company without children underfoot! Ahh...those were the days!

Favorite childhood memory was spending the summer out at my Grandparents Dairy farm in Southern Alberta. No place like it in the world.

My favorite childhood memory is of camping with my cousins. The adults spent the day sitting and sharing stories while all of us spent the day playing in the river catching crayfish, inner tubing and swimming. One really hot day the adults joined us for inner tubing and we had a blast. It was so hot the river was filled with water snakes trying to cool off too. There isn't a reunion where we don't all talk about inner tubing with the water snakes.

one of my favorite summer memories is playing 'ghost in the graveyard' with all the kids in the neighborhood - yes, it was pitch black outside, considering we lived in a new development with no street lights and YES, there were head on collisions as we chased and ran away from each other! But boy, was it ever fun!

The highlight in the small Kansas town I grew up in was always the church picnic. Ferris wheel, tractor ride, bingo, silly games, good wholesome fun.
