My favorite summertime childhood memory was seeing my mom watch me while in summer swim lessons, her greeting me, and us driving home while I ate cheez-its.
So now whenever I smell pool chlorine - I now think of Cheez-Its!

My favorite summer memory is when my dad would take me fishing. He said I caught my 1st fish, and ran across the parking lot with the fish still on the rod!

My favorite childhood summer time memory is when I was 7 and just learned to ride a bike. (little late I know)I got to explore the neighborhood at a new perspective and speed. My friends and I discovered a candy store in the neighborhood that summer. More like a mini, generic 7/11 store. They had penny and nickle candy, so to us it was a candy store. We made it our biking destination. I would get the candy coke bottles, tootsie rolls, and bazooka gum. We thought we had hit the mother load. Wish there was a shop like that in our neighborhood now. What a joy it would be to share that with my little guys today.
12 Layouts...? I would have to start with me and my mother on one. One of my journey with Christ. Mine and my husbands story on another. One for me and each of my kids together- would equal 6 more layouts. So that is 9. My future hopes for our family would be another layout. Then a "Thank you for your contribution" layout that would probably need to be 2 layouts. This would be for all those who have invested in my or our families lives. That is 12! These would some up alot, if not most of my life up to this point.
Huh, thanks for getting me thinking about this. I am going to copy this and use it now!!

Oh, my favorite memory of summer is absolutely all the time I spent at the public pool near our house. My brother and I LIVED there in the summers when I was a kid. So much fun doing handstands, playing tag, eating Chick-o-sticks, laying on our warm towels!

I remember catching fireflies in the park across the street from my apartment. We would remove their lights (cruel, I know) and wear them as jewelry.

No doubt about it, it's the summer my Dad took my little brother an I on a 2 week road trip. We drove ACROSS Texas, we went White water rafting down the Rio Grande, and visited Carlsbad Caverns (so cool!). We drove to Santa Fe, New Mexico and saw so much culture as they were having some festival going on. Then we went to see the white sands "desert" and sled-ed (sp?) down the big hills of white sand. We camped in Colorao (gorgeous!), then went to do the same at the Grand Canyon. We even saw the 4 corners (so cool for us kids!). Best trip of my life no doubt. But mostly b/c of the memories w/my Dad and brother. So fun... *sigh*

I used to love playing in the creek and hiking through the woods behind our home when I was a kid. We'd build forts out of abandoned railroad ties and get lost in our make believe world for the day. If all the neighbor kids were out, we'd play kick the can and hide in places like the top of the shed or behind the treehouse.

When I was a child, my maternal grandparents were "next door" to us. They had about 80 acres and farmed most of it. My grandfather had a wagon that would hitch behind the tractor. He would take my brother and I down to the watermelon fields and we would help load them all up. We would accidentally drop a few and eat them there in the field. Then they went in a pile under the walnut tree and every neighbow that stopped by for a visit got to take one home.

One of my favorite childhood memories is sleeping in the backyard with my friends. It seems like more nights were spend in sleeping bags than in our beds, during the summers.

Summer storms were always fun. My parents would let us play in the rain and it was a great way to cool down after days of hot weather.

one of my favoirte memories is from Family Camp. We would go once in the fall and once in the Spring with our church and stay in a cabin with our really close friends (about four families total). I remember the fun we had as kids and this singing around the campfire the adults did at night. It was fun, peaceful, and relaxing.
