Dear Kokuyo Dot-N-Roller I Will Miss You So

Yes, it's pretty silly and a tad melodramatic to be sad at the loss of my favorite adhesive.
But when you work with adhesive as much as I do, and you finally find one that is reliable and feels darn good in your hand, it's a big bummer to have it go away. Yep, in case you haven't heard yet Kokuyo will not be distributing the Dot N Roller in the US anymore.
I am starting to test out some other permanent brands including the Tombow Mono, the Therm-O-Web Memory Tape Runner (I like many of their other adhesives), and the 3L Easy Runner (which I don't like as much because I found that I like dots rather than tabs). I am still resisting that Scotch ATG mainly because it seems so big and bulky, but I might just have to try it after reading so many positive reviews both in comments here and elsewhere. If you use the ATG do you use the red one or the yellow one? Does it go on like dots or tabs?
So what are you testing out or using now?

I was waiting for you to do a post on Kokuyo! LOL
I suggest the Tombow. It's the one I'm using now.

I love the glue glider pro. They have various refill cartridges, I prefer perma tac, but so far nothing's dissappointed! Good Luck! I miss Kokuyo too!

I just switched back to the Red ATG 714 from the Tombo-at $5/refill, the Tombo just got too expensive. I do think the red ATG is lighter than the yellow, but that might just be my imagination. I love that the ATG can be used on everything, including ribbon!

I am very sad about this. I used Herma until I started using the dot n roll. Not sure yet what I'll choose. I'm not very good with change.

I have the ATG Yellow...actually 2 of them. One I keep the 1/2" and the other I bought the adaptor for the 1/4"...that was b4 the red one came out. I have to say...1/4" is great for the skinny ribbons n such but it is cheaper for me to just get the 1/2" and that's the one I use ALL THE TIME. I know that I will NEVER lose my tape gun under a pile of current project since it's so yellow and big. I like the ease of it and how long the adhesive lasts. I've had mine since 2001 and I am still loving it!!! it is the greatest...especially when I fill the invitation orders.

I only use glue. Tombow glue stick, Scotch strong and precise, Gloo and Tacky pVA glue are my favourites.

I love my herma dotto adhesive. I've been using it since I started scrappin' about five years ago and haven't turned back. They have removeable and perm and both work fab. The loading of the adhesive in the dispenser can be a little tricky but after all this time I've got it down. :)

I LOVE my ATG gun and have had it a really, really long time. It is so cost-effective and ALWAYS sticks. I have the yellow one and use permanent adhesive all the time. It does down hard. I have never regretted it. It is a solid strip of adhesive but is easy to place and works great for ribbon. I use glue dots for smaller items.

I like to pretend that Becky Higgins is my BFF. I know, it's a sickness. Anyway, both Becky and I love Duck brand adhesives. It is not the cheapest, but usually JoAnn Fabrics has a deal on a 4-pack so I stock up there.
PS - I know this about Becky because she posted it on her blog.

I purchased the ATG with reservations but absolutely love it. Took me a little bit to figure out how to refill it and because you refill so infrequently I would forget how it went. I do have it down pat now though. The biggest plus is never searching for your adhesive on your desk and the size is not a problem. Wow can you save the money!

I used to use the Tombow, but Jenni (Bowlin) finally convinced me to give Duck a try and now I'm hooked. It seems to go on a bit more evenly than the Tombow and since it's available in multi-packs it's easier to use a 40% coupon to get more for your money.

I too shall miss my beloved Kokuyo. I could not believe they weren't going to sell to us any longer! What a huge bummer! After much searching and sampling, I opted for the Glue Arts GlueGlider Pro.
Pros - It's compact and fits in your hands. I tried the ATG but found it huge! The adhesive cartridges are easy to swap out. It holds tight! As good as the Kokuyo, if not a bit better. They've got several different adhesive options where are easy to swap in and out.
Cons - Those adhesive cartridges are clunky as heck and not exactly cheap. Ritz Camera and Scrapbook Alley sell them the cheapest. Also they're about the least environmentally friendly with a huge plastic cartridge. I'd like to see them reduce that or make it refillable.

I have the red atg and love it! It does seem big when you first get it, but really has become just part of my hand. It seems very economical, 1 roll goes a long way. I like that I'm not throwing out alot of plastic each time I reload. I've used the glue glider, really fits nicely in your hand. Easy to get refills, coupons at HL, falling in the grocery cart at Krogers (gotta love that), but just doesn't go far enough.

I love my red ATG when I scrap at home - but it is big . The refills last a long time and the are very economical. If I'm going to a crop & have limited space, I use the tombow mono.

I use Tombow monoadhesive or the ATG 700 -- both are all use and are awesome! You can get refills for both pretty inexpensively as well!

I {heart} my ATG. I've used the yellow one with the 1/4" adapter for about 8 years. My SO is a picture framer so I had one before the stamping world caught wind of it. Get it. You won't regret it.

Update: I just got my red ATG with the gold refills and I have something very good to report. One of my favorite benefits to using the Kokuyo was that if the adhesive went off the edge, I could just rub the dots off the paper easy peasy. Guess what! The ATG tape does the same thing! I've tried some that haven't even rubbed off my desktop (yes, I'm a messy scrapper)...so I was sooooo glad to find out the ATG is going to be a great friend to me to.

I love the ATG one. I have the red (1/4') and LOVE IT! I also have the glue glider pro but feel guilty b/c it takes cartridges. I like that the ATG is just tape and no extra plastic parts to have to replace. It's more cost effective if you look at the by the yard. Also, the ATG Scotch GOLD tape is NOT forgiving. You stick it down, it's there. No moving around!! Good luck with your choice!!
