My favorite December tradition in recent years is making for my family the meals my mom made for me this time of year. She's been gone about 6 years now and it's fun to keep the tradition of her specific holiday recipes this time of year.

Christmas is a big deal in our home. So many traditions. I think my favorite is my 25 days album because my son likes to tell his story now too. I also like this album because it really captures the little things that make up such a big season.

My favorite Christmas tradition is passing on the tradition that my Mother provided for me and my children. My Mother has passed and my children are grown with their own children. They love me fixing my Mom's traditional Christmas day meal and I send my grandchildren the chocolate Christmas Countdown Box on the 1st of December. I feel honored to continue this tradition that my children enjoyed just like we did when they were small. Enjoying the moments together are what count everyday...not just Christmas! Thank you Allie for such a wonderful blog to follow and the inspiration it has given me to create in order to give to others. Happy Holidays!

One of my favorite family traditions is the Advent calendar that my mom made when I was little. My children love when it goes up every December 1st and it takes me back to when my siblings and I used to use it. Thanks for the opportunity!

So many Christmas traditions are my favorite: I love shopping for gifts, love my Fontanini nativities, making holiday cookies and candies and spending time with our extended families.

My favorite family tradition is putting up the Christmas tree. We always put it up the Saturday after Thanksgiving after driving home from our family get together. We order Chinese takeout because we're tired of turkey and leftovers!

Since our boys were born we have had Santa letters delivered to them every Christmas. They are 17 & 15 now but the letters keep coming. When they were little they both would get sooooo excited to find out that Santa had put them on his good list. It was pretty cute! I don't know if they think it's half as amusing as we do today :) but those letters are going to keep coming!!

Fav December memory is probably having the family together on Christmas Eve and celebrating then. This tradition occured when we were younger and spent our xmas away from home, so Santa always came on Christmas Eve....just for us!! (mom would always say she forgot something and have to run into the house as we were headed off to relatives for a holiday gathering....tricky lady)

Great giveaways Ali! Thanks!
My favourite Christmas tradition started a few years ago when we travelled to my MIL & FILs for Christmas and in my packing haste, I forgot to pack the stocking stuffers for my son. It was Christmas Eve and everything was closed, so I used items I could find around the house that were appropriate (or semi-appropriate!) for a 2 yr old's stocking, one of which was a banana. My son thought it was so funny that Santa put a banana in his stocking, so it is something we still do every year and get a good laugh every Christmas morning.
