One of our favorite traditions apart from the usual is celebrating Lucia Day - our scandinavian heritage - our oldest daughter dresses in a white robe with a red sash and a crown of candles on her head and wakes us up on Dec. 13 (lucia day) with warm swedish buns and coffee! It is a simple, but meaningful tradition we continue to pass down through the generations!!!
Thanks for the chance to win the amazing goodies!!
Merry Christmas to all!!

My favorite Christmas tradition is going to mass on Christmas Eve and making tamales and just hanging out with my family and watching the kids open presents. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

What a great giveaway!
It's hard to pick just one "December Tradition," but I think quoting the Christmas story in the King James Version with my family on Christmas morning has to be one of the best. As a very little kid, memorizing it was part of our nightly Advent devotions. I've never forgotten it, though we mostly only practiced saying it once a year. "And it came to pass in those days ..."

My favorite tradition is taking my young daughter to our local mercantile to pick out a special Christmas ornament for that year. When she is grown up and on her own, she'll take these ornaments with her as a start for her own tree. It's interesting to see what ornament she selects each year!

My favorite Holiday tradition is the Santa Race in MPLS, which I run with my whole family. Everyone wears a santa suit and beard and runs through downtown. It just so happens it is later today:)

When we decorate the tree - one of the kids gets to throw the 'Christmas Spider' (made by my 14 year old when he was in kindergarten) into the newly decorated tree. Fun to see where it lands!!

I recently purchased 25 Christmas books and each night leading up to Christmas we unwrap a book and read it together. It's the first year we've started this tradition, but I see it becoming a favorite.

Our favorite Christmas tradition is our Advent box. It in the center of so many traditions--each evening we do something special to celebrate the season. One night it is hot cocoa, one night driving around to look at the lights, one night we'll watch a Christmas movie together, one night new jammies.
It is a daily reminder of what Christmas means to us--family time together.
