At home Christmas is our favorite holiday. We start by setting up our tree the day after Thanksgiving and then continue decorating the rest of the house. Our favorite tradition is the 12 Days of Christmas, which I started. We each have huge stockings and from December 13th to the 24th, each member of the family gets a gift every day. It does not matter if it is small or large, what matters is that it is something thougtful.
We celebrate with my in-laws on Christmas Eve and I prepare our our dinner on Christmas Day. After dinner, we each grab our stockings and open all of our gifts.

I have so many favorite traditions. One of my current favorites though is making gingerbread houses with my inlaws. We're mostly adults right now (the kids are all still pretty little) and so it's fun to outdo each other and test the limits of gingerbread housemaking. It has become a really fun tradition and one that I look forward to each year.

Our favorite tradition would have to be Christmas eve when we drive around our town looking at all the Christmas lights after we have attended our annual Christmas carols in the park! xo

My favorite tradition is baking Christams goodies with my kids, and having the Christmas music playing loudly in the background. So much fun.

My favorite christmas tradition as a child was going to my aunt & uncle's house to see Santa on Christmas Eve. We felt very special that Santa took the time out of his busy schedule to stop and give us a present.

My favorite tradition is one that I fear the children (13 yrs and 15 yrs old) will "grow out of." When I was a child my sisters and I used to love to lay beneath the decorated tree and look up at the lovely colors. We've encouraged the kids to do this as soon as they were old enough to lay still for a few minutes, but this year they haven't asked. I wonder if it will be this year that they stop. It reminds me to take photos and document the moments that I really treasure.

My favorite tradition is the reading of the Advent stories by Arnold Ytreeide. The books are exciting, adventurous, and very well written. Light the advent candle, settle back as a family (14 and 13 year old boys as well as the 11 year old girl), read the story, use the discussion starter at the end to talk about what we read then pray together as a family, it's the highlight of our Christmas season.

My mom is big into Christmas. She goes all out on decorating her house after she has helped me decorate mine. We pick one weekend in December and go to her house so she can share her decorated house with her only grandson. There she has a special little tree that they decorate together and he gets to open a few presents early. I love to see her enjoying my son enjoying this tradition. Its priceless and memories we will always cherish.

We make a big deal about hiking through the snow and the woods to find the perfect tree. It takes lots of time and lots of debate and consideration.

Everything you posted above looks so awesome!!!!!! My favorite Christmas tradition is making cookies for "Santa" with my daughter on Christmas eve. I just love those mother daughter moments. My daughter's 10 so this may be the last year she believes in Santa, but Im hoping we still continue the tradition of baking cookies together for many years to come.

I make a Christmas Countdown with activities for us to do to spend time with the boys. I love it because it is the best way to help me slow down during this busy season and I get to make special memories with my boys each year.

Hi Ali, I LOVE the Digital prizes sitting nicely on your mantle! Oh so pretty! Our funny tradition that is happening now is that I sent all of my adult kids magnetic countdown to Christmas calendars for their refrigerators. Our 21 year old daughter lives at home while going to college and she asked to "be in charge" of this tradition this year. She fell behind 2 days already and when I added the magnets, was offended that I was "spoiling her fun". hahahaha
