We tour the Disney hotels every December to see the really cool life-sized gingerbread houses. It is fun and free!

Gingerbread Houses! For the 7th year in a row I got to watch my three boys create their own candy cottages at our church today - even my 15 year old still wanted to do it although at 6'3 1/2, I think he was the tallest person there! We've been participating in this annual event since we joined the church and it's wonderful to watch their progression over the years!
Great giveaways - especially those framed prints! Thanks!

Oh, there are so many, but I love our Santa Clause box. It's an advent chest, but instead of candy I put treasure maps, scavenger hunt clues, or riddles to where little gifts are hidden around the house. They usually involve some sort of craft activity. There are also invitations to movie nights, driving to see lights, a trip to the coffee shop for cocoa, and other seasonal adventures. The kids love it!

popcorn.. stringing it up for my christmas tree.. we did it every year when I was a child.. I have so many many fond memories of it.. and while I no longer HAVE to do, I am typically the only one stringing, it sends me back to a calm and quiet place amidst the happy crazy memories of my childhood. Also, the popcorn look is very old fashioned and compliments my tree so nicely.. plus, I get to sit down with a great big bowl of freshly popped corn, my husband and a holiday movie for atleast 3 nights, 7 1/2 foot tree requires atleast 10 or so yards to make it drape nice..
a win, win, win, win, win situation for me..

It's been a tradition since I can remember, we watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation the day we put the tree up. It's a very simple silly thing, that I can't imagine not doing.

Making a small batch of cookie dough and letting the kids create, decorate and eat their own creations (think lots of frosting and sprinkles).

I love turning the Christmas tree lights on every night. I love driving up to our house and seeing it all lit up. It's so serene and magical. I love knowing my children appreciate all they have and aren't greedy.
I love that they enjoy helping others and contribute to charitable giving from their piggy banks. I love that we celebrate the real meaning of Christmas and that I am here to share it with them.

So many traditions, hard to pick one so here goes. On Friday the women of my family got together and made hundreds of uszki (small polish type ravioli filled with mushrooms) to go in the beetroot soup on Xmas Eve. Its a really nice bonding thing to do made from a recipe passed down through many generations. On Xmas Eve we all get around the piano and sing carols and any new adition to the family (boy/girlfriends etc) have to do a solo which is always very funny....I LOVE this time of year....
