Sponsor Giveaways : Studio Calico, Memory Works, Lisa Leonard, & Designer Digitals

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.
The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.
At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

My word is GRATITUDE. I was to be more thankful for the blessings in my life including my wonderful husband, who puts up with my quirkiness, my sweet little son, who makes each day new and wonderful, and my family, who supports me in every way imaginable!

My word this year is ADVENTURE. I'm going to Europe (hopefully) for three months and know that remembering that I need to be fearless and try everything is important--also that when I get back that i will have 1000s of pictures to develop && organize somehow. I'm super excited for both travelling and the scapbooking!
Happy New Year, Ali, hope it's great for you and the family!

My word for this year is OPEN. I am going to throw away old hurts and unfurl my petals and quit worrying about past hurts and quit wondering when loyalty went away.

Hi Ali,
First of all, thank you so much for the inspiration! I've made "one little word" a tradition since 2007 and I love it! This year it's BALANCE for me, because that's what I think I'm seeking, even when I call it other things. I'm journaling my thoughts towards balance, and especially intending to give myself credit for recognizing the moments when I have it!
Happy New Year to you and your story!

Balance...I am working on creating some house-hold schedules and having everyone help so that it's not so overwhelming! It's a small step, but it's just the beginning :)

I love a new year. A fresh start. Even if I don't realize all of my goals or resolutions...the hope is alive and I realize I hold the keys in my hands. I have control over my own circumstances.
We are having a big family dinner and New Years kick-off on Monday night where we will introduce our family's theme for the year..."Simplify".

My word is POTENTIAL. I haven't totally thought this through yet but one thing that I have started is to undertake some Life Coaching and shortly I shall be doing the session on potential/resources. I am hoping that this year I will use all my gifts and skills to their full potential.

I haven't yet picked a word. That said, my resolution continues from the past couple of years. We live over 2000 miles from my two remaining grandparents. I am working to send them long, anecdote-filled letters about once a month so that they feel more connected to my girls and so that they know they matter to me. (None of us are big phone people...)

My word is ATTITUDE. Not a pretty word. (Not a word for a necklace or the wall!) A hard word I think. One that reigns me in a bit. I am hoping it will serve as a daily reminder not to react to things or get frustrated, but rather have a good attitude. That sounds vague. So my action so far is to make a list of what a good attitude looks like - grace, peace, joy, confidence, love, knowledge, insight, rejoicing, hope, courage, fruitful, encouraging, not grumbling....

My one little word this year is "WRITE," so my action is to do just that....write in my journal, write letters, write lists, write notes to my children, write love notes to my husband, write down the stories I have been meaning to tell, and then tell them!!

This is my first year embarking on the OLW journey..and mine is WELLNESS. I'm working toward better physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. So for me some of the little things that will keep me centered on being well and doing well is: spending time in prayer every day, eating more veggies, laughing more, exercising more, and worrying less.

My word for the year is victorious! I've just been diagnosed with breast cancer and my adventure begins next week. I plan to document the good, the bad, the bald through scrapbooking & blogging. This is just a bump on the road of life, but life will win out!!

My word this year is MINDFUL. I want to be mindful of how I spend my time, my energy. Being present with my children is a key part of that, so one thing I will be doing is spending less time on the computer.

My goal for the new year is to be creative more often. I check scrapbooking and art blogs everyday and love to look at scrapbooking magazines, but when it comes to actually making things I slack. So this year I hope to change that and use the beautiful things I have seen to help inspire me to make some myself! :]

I think I have finalized that my word for the year will be Love. Afterall, God calls us to love in every aspect of our lives, yet I still continue to thwart that thought. My action for this week that involves the word for the year is finding a way to show my husband and children love, that I haven't tried before.
Thanks for the nudge on acting, instead of just contemplating. ;)

My word this year is health! I'm off caffiene and sodium (within the daily allowance).
Thanks,
