Sponsor Giveaways : Studio Calico, Memory Works, Lisa Leonard, & Designer Digitals

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.
The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.
At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

My new slogan for the year is "Just Do It!" (not very original, I know...) With a new little babe and a 2yo at my house, it's crazy. I could get overwhelmed with the millions of tiny tasks that make up my daily existence, or I can choose each day to do something new, make a great memory with the kiddos, try a new recipe, play with blocks for an extra ten minutes, ignore the laundry and go for a walk... anything. Not worrying about what isn't getting washed, fixed, cooked, cleaned... When inspiration hits, I'm going to JUST DO IT!

My word is FOCUS.
In years past I've made minis, bought home decor with my word on it, made an album through the year focused around the word and have also bought charm necklaces with my word. This year I haven't decided yet what route I'm going to take, but I've found that it is so helpful to do something that will serve as a constant reminder.
Thanks Ali for pushing us all to chose a word!

My first step was to actually CHOOSE my word and create a blog post about it, which I did today. My word is CHERISH. I am pregnant with my fourth child. An unplanned blessing. And I want to be mindful of everything positive about the pregnancy...to cherish the free time I have before the baby's arrival and the miracle of life growing inside me, and then to cherish all of the moments I'll have with the baby once he arrives and the impact he'll have on our family dynamic.

It seems that I am always collecting ideas...for my home, scrapbooking, meal planning, etc. You name it, I've probably got a file full of ideas. This year my word is going to be Create. It requires action on the idea( or in my case - ideas). The first 2 things I am doing to act on it are working through the "Word of the year discovery tool" and getting a new haircut. Something different that will be a daily reminder of my intent to create.

My word is present...as in be "present" instead of worrying about what's coming in the future. So one step I'm taking is to simply write down little notes in a journal about what is presently going on, so I don't forget and so I can focus.

I have not chosen a specific word. I am planning on completing a few big projects in scrapbooks that I have been putting off for some time, including an album of my mother's life. She is still with us so I would like to get it completed to give her for her 85th birthday in May 2010.

My word is Joy. I have found myself stressing over too many things and not taking the time to step back and relish in the joy of life. The joy my husband and 2 kids bring to my life. The joy of good friendship. The joy of a beautiful sunny day or the joy in a good puddle splash. Life is too short and I don't want to spend it being angry, stressed or worried. :)

following the SS OWP word for january i've chosen the word create. i'm creating something everyday regardless of how seemingly small and insignificant. i've also officially declared myself a photographer/writer which is something i've never had the courage to do. i'll take at least one photo and write at least one paragraph every day!
thanks for the fantastic give away!

My word is "transform". I'm applying it to many aspects of my life one of which is my parenting. Every time I interact with my kids (especially when my patience is wearing thin) I think my word and it inspires me to be patient.

I gave this some thought and came up with the word "positive." I really want to work on focusing on the good things in life instead of always seeing the bad. But then today I received a new quilting book for Christmas and the word that popped into my head was "challenge." So, I'm still working on "positive," but for "challenge" I plan on trying lots of new things this year. New quilting techniques, new scrapbooking techniques, new recipes, new everything. Time to shake things up--and look on the bright side if they don't work out right the first time!
