Sponsor Giveaways : Studio Calico, Memory Works, Lisa Leonard, & Designer Digitals

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.
The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.
At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

One person will receive the Life Documented kit from the new Simple Stories collection by MemoryWorks.
Your photos and memories are far too important to keep in a box, store on a computer or bury in a pile. We know life is busy and at times it feels nearly impossible to keep up with all of life's demands - yet alone find time for the things you enjoy like your scrapbook hobby and preserving your memories.
If you're overwhelmed with too many photos...
If you're feeling guilty for not being "caught up"...
If you're overloaded with creative pressure and unrealistic expectations...
If you're stressed because you don't have enough time to scrapbook...
If you don't know where to start...or worried if you can even keep up...
If you're frustrated with the process of traditional scrapbooking...
If you're looking for a better way...
Then you will love our simple and refreshing approach to scrapbooking!
MemoryWorks is beyond thrilled to introduce the new, exclusive Simple Stories scrapbook system. You can view our video here. Our Life Documented kit allows you to share your story in a whole new way, while getting back to the basics of what scrapbooking is all about...your photos and memories. We've done all the work for you with our exclusive Simple Stories system - with beautiful pre-designed elements that you simply trim, add your journaling and then insert into pockets - along with your 4x6 photos - for quick and easy scrapbooking. No cropping. No adhesive. No stress. It's as easy as that - sharing your photos and memories has never been easier!

My word for this year is HOPE !! This new year will not be as the one we expected here ! My sister-in-law, dear friend and godmother of our daughter has been diagnosed breast cancer at Christmas and she will have her surgery tomorrow ans the start the fight against cancer... So all these "stupids" things that were in my head as resolutions doesn't have any meanings at all, the only thing that count fo me, for us, is that she will recover... so yes... HOPE ;-)

I will "listen", really and actively listen to others (and not spend the time formulating my answering comment). A real conversation takes place in words...and the attentive and accepting silence between words.

My word is ORGANIZE and to that end I've started with my office, throwing away lesson plans and resources that I haven't looked at or used in the past two years.

My word for this year is progress. As a single mother of three beautiful children, I'm also a recovering alcoholic who struggles with a severe mental illness. I rarely feel that life will be okay nor has there been much hope for genuine happiness. My goal is to strive for progress by beginning intensive therapy and learning how to play more with my kids instead of "just getting through another day". I want to live without so much fear and have more Faith. To lower my pride and ask for help when this world seems like too much or its too difficult to even get out of bed let alone to the grocery store. Through baby steps I will strive for progress not perfection- as we say in AA. I want to move forward and "progress" to a happier, peaceful way of life for myself and my children! Thank you Ali. I feel like this is sign that I am going in the right direction.

my word for 2010 is DREAM. I saw a poster that said, "did you give your dreams a chance today?" After raising a family and all the details of life taking first place, I look forward to opening up to what was not possible before.

My word for 2010 is change.
Change:
-my eating habits (more whole foods less processed)
-my exercise routine (include a variety of different exercises)
-my scrapbooking approach (include more stories, more journaling)

Many things to change and improve. I just started reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and am really enjoying it. Giving me ideas and motivation!

My word = simplify. When I'm faced with a decision, that's one of the criteria I'm going to start when evaluating. Will this action simplify my life? I've already started with cleaning out the house/clutter/maternity clothes/old stuff that needs to be removed so simplicity can be achieved.

My word is actually 2 - Take Control. I need to take control of my health, my stress level and my personal relationships again. 2009 was a tough one - lost a job of 28 years and my father.........and I have been just hanging on. This year I am going to pull it back together - and yesterday I joined a health club to start by taking spinning classes! Wish me luck!

My word is, "ENCOURAGE"
Everyone, including myself needs a little encouragement, whether it's a simple sentence to someone or a random act of kindness to encourage someone to get through something. I find that not only does encouragement make the person feel good, but it gives you a sense of accomplishment when you know you've changed someones day by a simple word or act.
Incredible giveaways-- Keeping my fingers crossed.
