GIVEAWAY | Three people will receive spots in Mary Ann Moss's online class Remains Of The Day.
Remains Of The Day is the antidote for all of those paper scraps that keep multiplying in your favorite scrap box and clogging up your artistic super highway. In this process AND project oriented class we’ll be constructing a shabby but sturdy journal (like this one) using all of that paper you’ve been hoarding. Ordinary life never looked better than seen through the pages of this stitched up journal of scraps.

Oooh. Love the giveaway this week!
For me, my advice is to throw open the curtains and let the light shine in. I'm always inspired when I do this because I can see all the clutter and dust and everything else that needs to be cleaned.

My favorite is when there's a Groupon for $100 worth of cleaning services for $25. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

My Spring tip is to go through all of my summer and Spring clothes first. After purging some of them and donating them, I have a reason to go shopping for some new clothes. Yeah!!

Not really a cleaning tip, but something we should all do every Spring--change the batteries in your smoke/carbon monoxide detectors!

I have never wanted the randomizer to skip to pick me more....and my favorite spring cleaning tip is to open the windows and doors while you vacuum and dust. It keeps you cool and the house fresh.

Find the schedules of charity pick-ups and yard sales in your area. It is much easier to clean and discard if you know where, when, how (removal and transportion of larger objects) and what items are most requested by different groups. When I have a schedule and a specific goal I find myself motivated to start and finish a cleaning goal.

I like to clean out one drawer or cupboard a day. I celebrate my accomplishments, and meet my goals this way without being overwhelmed!

Best cleaning tip... For baskets, put them in the tub and spray with the shower nozzle. Use mild soap to remove grease rinse and let dry.

A thorough cleaning of the carpets - Ohio winter's track in salt, snow, and all kinds of debris. Did it today and it felt great to see that mucky water go!

I have a massive bag of baking soda I bought at Sams Club. I use baking soda all the time! I throw some in my laundry, use it to clean the oven, sprinkle on carpets, and of course I put some in the fridge!

Open windows, use lemon, both are big hits. I like to use diluted bleach on tub, sinks, anywhere I can and make the whole house smell sanitized. Also like to get the patios and deck cleaned nice and start enjoying them.

I do spring cleaning every year and use Melaleuca products. Best tip for spring cleaning when you are a busy mom and have a busy life: after creating your list, break the chores down into managable chunks that can be accomplished in 15 min to 1 hr segments so that every day (no matter how busy) you can cross SOMETHING off your list. And yes, this includes vacumning and dusting (and usually some form of rearranging that includes getting rid of more clutter - in EVERY room. :)

Would love to win this class - with our exchange rate it's very expensive to do a US$ class.
It's autumn here, not spring, but I'm still clearing out. The 15-minute timer is my best tip. Set the timer for 15 minutes and clear out a drawer for that period of time. I often find I'll do two or three lots of 15 minutes as I'll get into the groove, but I'm much more likely to start if I think it's only for 15 minutes!

Spring cleaning is more fun for me if I can actually open the doors and windows and let the fresh air in as I clean. I also like to put things out on our deck as I deep clean the floors and walls.
