Up & Running provides unique online running classes for women. Our 5K Beginners Course is not the usual boring "walk 5 mins, run 5 minutes" program. Whether you've dabbled in running before or completely new to exercise, we'll not only help you start running safely, we'll get your mind in the right place too.

"Up & Running really has been the best thing I have done for myself in years, and not just for the running. My confidence and happiness in my own skin has increased so much and I love what my body can DO, rather than obsessing about what it looks like."

My mom steadfastly and passionately loved us kids. She passed away two years ago after a long struggle. In the end, the one thing that mattered the most to her was that we love each other. She wanted to leave us knowing that we would always be a strong, supportive family. She truly was the glue that held our family together - always able to see past the little things to remind us of what really mattered. More times than I can count, I have told my boys the same thing. She taught me to love unconditionally and to hold fiercely to that love. I miss her. I love her.

    Hi everyone!

My mommy is gone, but one of her best trinkets of advice still echoes in my hears at 44 years, "Jan, you teach people how to treat you" so true, so true :)

    Happy Mother's Day!

    Jan

My mom taught me to listen to my friends rather than always be the first to give advice. She is a fantastic listener, and I can always depend on her to listen to me when I need her to lend an ear. Love you mom!

My Mom taught me to cook. She was always so good about having us in the kitchen at a young age. It has been a tool I have continued to use. Now I am blessed to have my boys in the kitchen with me. THanks, Mom.

One of the most important lessons that my mom taught me was never spoken, but taught by her actions - it's never too late. It is never too late to make the move, to do what you feel is right, to make the change, to share, to fall in love and be loved. My mom is such an inspiration to me for doing all of those things.

My mom taught me that I am enough. Although I would grow, change, evolve and learn - throughout the entire process I AM ENOUGH. The material things, world's standard of beauty and other people don't define me. I am who I am, and that is enough : )

My mom taught me how to cook and how sharing food with others opens up relationships you might not expect. She invited all types of people over, ones that we would not be happy about (old people, single parents, etc). We were expected to sit at the table and eat dinner with these families and everytime I learned something new. My mom basically invited someone different each week from our church, and she left no one out. When I had slumber parties, I had to invite all the girls, not just my best friends. When I go home to visit, these parties and dinners are still talked about. My mom has a big heart.

If there was something I was upset about and it was late in the day, my Mom would always say: get some sleep, everything looks better in the morning. And you know what, she's right!

My mom is one of the most wise people I know - she taught me to treat others as I would like to be treated...and was/is a model of this always. It doesn't matter who you are, she is always kind, caring and considerate and makes everyone she meets feel like they matter. I feel so lucky to have had her influence in my life!

My mom is a hugger. I can vividly remember sitting on her lap as a child and her holding tight to me. I now don the same to my kids and I think that close, physical contact is so important.
