So glad Lily is getting well. Every one of my dogs have been like my children and I stayed up at night with them when they were sick. They took a piece of my heart with them when they left ... so enjoy & love has now as much as possible so you both take away only beautiful memories. I miss seeing your column in the magazines ...

Oh my...I was SO worried about Lily. SO glad she is ok!! They are family. The pics are priceless...that Anna is a beauty, and Simon is SO grown up:)

GREAT news about Lily! It is so good to read she is doing better. Eleven is way too young to cross the bridge. I have such respect for fur-parents that do not give up on their furry loved ones so soon. That campsite looks AWESOME. Looks like you had a great time!

It's obvious you're in the northwest, since the kids are wearing everything from swimsuits and shorts to fleece, down and stocking caps! It's another fleece-kind-a-day in Seattle today.

We love family camping! No distractions, ie tv, Internet, video games to keep us from spending time together as a family. I looked at these pictures of Simon and thought the same thing when I looked at pictures of my oldest son the other day-when did you grow up and get so stinking tall?

Ah, camping. I will always regret that I never took my kids camping without my DH. He's SO not a camper. pout. Your photos bring back clear, vivid memories of our family camping trips when I was younger.

I'm glad to see that Lily will live through many more hugs. The day you started worrying about Lily was the same day my dad landed in the ICU. He, too, is out of danger.
