IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.
Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

my favorite holiday tradition is Christmas Eve, we have a huge italian fish feast with lobsters and 6 other kinds of fish.....my mother's godchild and her family always celebrate with us, and then we get to open our presents from them. we also celebrate my brother's birthday after dinner (he was born on Christmas Day) with birthday cake for dessert, and he opens his birthday presents then........it's the only way i have ever celebrated Christmas Eve, and I love it!!!

I love your layout and the stamps used to create a background pattern.
My favorite holiday tradition is hanging a Christmas stocking on each of my 3 kids doors. Every morning there will be something in from Santa, even just a small little chocolate. This start the 1st of December until the 23rd, because the 24th Santa is bringing the real Christmas present. The kids just love this. They can't wait to get up in the morning to see what is in the Christmas stocking.

Love how you used that stamp. Thanks for the inspiration.
My favorite Christmas tradition is getting the whole family together on Christmas Eve to go look at the Christmas lights. First we stop and get hot chocolate, of course.

My favorite Christmas tradition is our Christmas Eve Open House with oyster stew, shrimp/lobster bisque, peel and eat shrimp, raw oysters, and lots of side dishes and snacks. We invite friends to drop in anytime in the evening and they do--over 50 of them last year. Love the idea of using background stamps for scrapbook pages

Ever since my kids were really young, we've baked and decorated Christmas cookies with the neighbor kids. LOVE to see the progression in skill from cookies that were just slabbed with any color icing to individual "works of art."

Which tradition? I love most Christmas traditions, but I think I love anything to do with Christmas lights--especially going to temple square in Salt Lake to see the lights and Nativity scenes!

Love Hero Arts stamps! And what a fabulous layout. :) One of my favorite holiday traditions is our Christmas Eve Extravaganza (that's what we call it, haha). During the day on Christmas Eve we make all our favorite snacky finger foods, some of which we only make at Christmas (like Hot Clam Dip bread bowls and Artichoke Parmesan dip). Around 5 o'clock we set them all out, along with all the goodies we've made throughout the month or ones we've received and we dig in! We watch The Muppet Christmas Carol and eat until we're stuffed. Then my hubby reads the Christmas Story in Luke, we set out milk and cookies for Santa (and some treats for the reindeer) and head to bed. It's such a wonderful night - we look forward to it all year!

My favorite holiday tradition is on Christmas Eve after dinner when my whole family is in the living room laughing and talking and suddenly my grandma, from Scotland, pops out in a rap she makes up on the spot.

hi! Love the giveaway. I like a freshly cut tree and then I just bring out all the decorations and let my boys do the tree up however they like. It really puts them in the mood and gets them super excited.
