IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.
Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

My favorite holiday tradition is all of us going out to the woods to pick out our tree. It's a fun day for all. Love to scrap those times!

Favourite tradition would have to be opening presents in order from youngest to oldest in the family.

My favourite Christmas tradition is touring the streets checking out all the Christmas lights and listening to Bing Crosy and Frank Sinatra belt out Christmas Carols...

I really like the way you used the stamp ... never would've thought of that myself! My fave holiday tradition is the Making of the Snickerdoodles! Seems like we can never make enough!

My favorite fun Christmas tradition is baking treats as a family to give to friends and neighbors. But the best Christmas tradition we have is Types of Christ. Everyday we read in the scriptures about a symbol or type of Christ. It helps us remember the real reason we celebrate Christmas! Thanks for the chances at your Hero Arts giveaways!

Christmas caroling in our neighborhood with friends and family is my favorite holiday tradition. My daughter (now 18) creates an invite and a song packet with lyrics and related images. The evening starts with finger foods, turns outside for caroling (in all sorts of weather), and ends with warm drinks. Always a great time! Interacting with the people who open the door to our singing is often hilarious as well.

My family's favourite is making the Christmas pudding and everyone has a turn at stirring the mixture and dropping some of the money into it.

I love the simplicity of your layout, Or at least you made it seem that way. The background stamp worked wonders, I personally always forget to do things like that with my stamps. Thank you so much for sharing and for inspiring. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

We have lots of traditions and I love them all- but I have really enjoyed heading out with my kids on Christmas Eve to see which houses in the neighbourhood that are covered in lights. Some of the conversations they have had have been classic- very funny and informative.
