Week In The Life 2012 | Tuesday Words + Photos
Tags:NUMBER OF PHOTOS FOR TUESDAY | around 80 (only a couple on my iphone)
A couple things:
This is not a competition. It's not about the number of photos. It's not about how much you write or don't write. It's about capturing and celebrating the details of your own life - for yourself, for your family, etc.
I didn't feel like writing much today. I want you to remember, and I keep reminding myself, that this project can be what you want it to be. It can evolve and morph over the course of the week as you find your own rhythm and routine.
Today I thought a lot about creating a sustainable pace. In between dealing with some Simon stuff and some mortgage refinance stuff and some health insurance stuff and some work stuff, I thought about composition. I really took intentional photos today - not photos of everything that was happening (skipped a couple big things like needing to go to Simon's school for an impromptu meeting in the middle of the day) - but photos that represented the flow and rhythm of the day.
Here's a look at some of my Tuesday photos:
Beginning.
Reading.
Saying goodbye.
Saying hello.
Saying goodbye.
Resting.
Cleaning.
Working.
Making coffee.
Enjoying.
Eating.
Working.
Eating and working.
Listening.
Driving.
Jumping for joy.
Again.
And again.
Pretending.
Throwing.
Expressing.
Welcoming.
No thanking.
Capturing.
Breathing deep.
Feeling thankful.
Working.
Finishing up the day.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.

Thanks for the reminder Ali. I came to that same conclusion last night when I felt a bit disheartened about the lack of photos I thought I took yesterday. It's ok, right!

Beautiful photos Ali - I love how you are using the timer to make sure that you are included. I need to try and do that before the end of the week!

I love the "expressing photo"...lol, that is so my son as well, I never thought of capturing it that way. Also, what are you having with your strawberries, it looks delicious?

Thanks for sharing these pictures (and words) of your life. So inspiring.... I took a picture just now using the timer: of me reading your blog!

These really are life photos and I love that. Also eyeing off those strawberries and hoping that's cream, but it's probably something more healthy. I've loved to see your lunches in previous WITL's. Do you make your lunch at lunchtime or have leftovers?

Yesterday I learned to use the tripod more. Made a big difference. Thank you! I love looking at your life and the beautiful moments you capture. My fave photo today is of your daughter coming back into the house after saying good-bye to daddy. The dog right there, dad in the background, her sweet face, and that banana. Perfect moment!

LOVE the photo of Anna saying goodbye!! Your pictures of every day life really are inspirational. Loved how you captured the light at different times of the day yesterday. Really gives a sense of morning, noon and night. Love the window shots too. Great job.

Your pictures are great! Simple and to the point. By the way, where did you get the awesome XL dog bed? I have a 115lb bullmastiff puppy who that would be perfect for!

I'm agree it's not a competition about the number of the photos. I don't have a lot but it's sufficiency for me.

Yesterday was one of them days as I was feeling well not up to it. Personal stress truth be told made me stay in bed most of the day. I did manage to capture some moments but not as I wanted so instead I journaled. Today is a new day & new canvas.

Amazing! You had a really fully day, Ali. It was not an easy one and mine wasn't either! I was just sitting here drinking my coffee and realizing how much I didn't keep track of documentation yesterday as the evening was spent in a two hour argument/debate with my 15 year old! Not an easy thing to record or live through! So I admire how you made such a wonderful array of photos and expression and many with the timers, too! You are such a pro, girl! I will do better today after seeing all you managed to accomplish AND capture. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

These are beautiful Ali. Even in the midst of a tough day. I love that you got some jumping on the bed pics! I managed a few of those yesterday. Love that one of you and Anna reading. I also liked that you captured your work day. That's important too and not an easy thing to capture. Thanks for your inspiration and encouragement.

Love the joy you have caught in your daughter's face, and what you have captured in a kiddo who's not so hip on the pics right now. Thanks for the encouragement :)

I am so impressed by you Ali - anyone who can deal with a mortgage AND insurance AND still be a loving mother, work and still take pictures for all of us is REMARKABLE. I'm proud of you!
