Rounded Or Square?
Tags:
I haven't had a ton of time to catch up (no guilt about this) on Project Life® recently but I did print out a bunch of photos from some of our adventures last week. I've been trying to print them out at the same time as I edit the photos for my blog posts - you know, that whole "one touch" thing (vs. doing one thing now and then having to come back to them all over again to print).
Which brought me to this thought: all along I've been rounding the corners. I like the look of rounded corners.
But I might be tired or rounding them. I'm thinking about not caring about that anymore (or doing it sometimes and not other times) and wondering if I can be cool with a mix of rounded cards and square photos and REALLY who cares if they are rounded or not or a mix.
So today's question to you: square, rounded, or a mix?
Hope you have an awesome weekend. I'm super excited that the Story Stamps™ will start shipping next week and I can't wait to start telling stories with many of you in the member community.

Rounded. No thought-out reason, I just like the way it looks. I'm on year 5 of PL and I've rounded corners all the way along. Never thought about it much. No one will ever care--the vast majority of people who look at my albums (whether PL or the traditional pages) have never seen anyone else's scrapbook pages anyway, so it's all my decision. No peer pressure!

I dislike the rounded corners, which is why I've never bought any Becky Higgins products. I just don't get the reason for rounding them. But it's totally not an important issue, I think the person making the album should just do whatever they want and no one else is likely to even notice!

The 4th time my corner rounder broke - I gave up on the rounded corners and now they are mixed. Like it a little less, but not less enough to keep rounding. Life is too short.

Mix! Especially if the card on the other side is rounded - I do like those to line up. But otherwise my default for photos is unrounded.

Mix 'em up! I used to think everything had to be rounded, but I recently finished an album for my stepson's senior year. And it's totally mixed. Some round, some square, sometimes it depended what was going to be on the backside of the photo/journal card. It looks great and doesn't look so 'perfectly' done. Lovin' it!

This got me wondering...I do round but am also tired of spending the time doing it. Just went to Becky Higgin's site and looked at the post with all the team members' pages...I'm going to start not rounding my pictures and use everything as is! It looks just great!

Square. I like the look of rounded corners but life is too busy to bother with it. And when I look through the albums & I read the stories & photos and I don't even notice whether the photos are square or rounded. Let it go. Go for square. :)

PL is such a struggle for me that at some point when I can start rounding corners for a spread (usually when I'm stuck on a decision), it is perfect both to have that little job to do and to see the transformation as the spread begins to look finished. I also think that element of cohesion gives me more room to include what I want without worrying that it will look a mess, and since things don't sit perfectly aligned in the pockets (obviously I am really meaning "perfectly" since the pockets are aligned)--somehow the rounding seems to work better with that. But moments of frustration with the corner rounder (on my 3rd PL rounder) make me revisit this question frequently.

You really need to ditch the PL corner rounder. I took mine back - worst punch I've ever had in 15+ years of crafting. Biggest hunk of junk ever!
Apparently you can get a we r memory keepers corner punch that is the same size and from what i hear it is a million times better than the stupid pl one which i despise.
Creative Memories makes the best tools. Their corner rounder is super; it lasts for years.

I use mixed. Most of the time they are rounded but on occasion I just put them in straight out of the printer.

I did mixed (photos square, journaling cards rounded) on the project life album I used to get all of the pictures my mom had in Rubbermaid tubs under the bed organized(ish....I only got through half of the "floating" pics that weren't in albums.) For my personal pl album for this year I have rounded everything, because I just like how it looks. But I could see myself going back to mixed next year if there was more stuff going on and the time it took it do that became less satisfying.

I like the look of the square corners better it fills the pocket... a cleaner look to me. But I'm sure it's just a personal preference. The packaged PL & other sets are all pre rounded but when I take a sheet of patterned paper that's a bunch of cards you can cut up yourself I always don't round them

It depends on my mood... if I have a lot of photos to go through, then I live them square. What I like by doing that is that I always can go back and round the corners later.

I'm a mixed girl.. I don't go to all the trouble of rounding, but if cards come that way it's ok to add them to my album. I'm not going to stress over it.

I only round corners when my photos are backing a rounded card. My pages are pretty much always mixed and I couldn't care less. Ain't nobody got time for that is my mantra when it comes to rounding corners.

I've never thought of doing it this way, but I love it and am probably going to switch. I spend so much time rounding corners. Thank you for sharing what you do!

I stopped rounding the corners of my photos about 2 years ago - it was one of things I hated doing most and I just didn't have that "extra" time available. I thought I would care & that it would bother me but for the most part it doesn't at all. The simplicity of not doing it far outweighs the occasional perfectionist in me. The most telling is that when I look back at say last years album I don't even notice rounded or not rounded or both. Go for it Ali!

I like the look of square. But I use a lot of cards from kits that are rounded........guess i am mixing them.....but wish the kits were square.

I prefer the squared look, but end up with a mix because some cards come pre-rounded. I wish there was a way to unround them!
