Rounded Or Square?

I haven't had a ton of time to catch up (no guilt about this) on Project Life® recently but I did print out a bunch of photos from some of our adventures last week. I've been trying to print them out at the same time as I edit the photos for my blog posts - you know, that whole "one touch" thing (vs. doing one thing now and then having to come back to them all over again to print).

Which brought me to this thought: all along I've been rounding the corners. I like the look of rounded corners.

But I might be tired or rounding them. I'm thinking about not caring about that anymore (or doing it sometimes and not other times) and wondering if I can be cool with a mix of rounded cards and square photos and REALLY who cares if they are rounded or not or a mix.

So today's question to you: square, rounded, or a mix?

Hope you have an awesome weekend. I'm super excited that the Story Stamps™ will start shipping next week and I can't wait to start telling stories with many of you in the member community.

I only round if it is a printable that has rounded corners. It's just too much work and I never notice the difference once everything is in my book.

I have a haphazard mix of round and square corners in my books. Typically, I don't round my photos or any cards I print at home. I mix the square edge photos and cards with rounded PL cards. I love the happy mix of various edges. It feels a little rebellious! Be adventurous and give it a try :)

Personally, I like the look of square edges, but since none of the Project Life kits have them, I ended up doing rounded edges in my one physical album, and I have to say, it was quite tedious, to be honest! I don't regret it, since it looks great, but it took a long time to get it done. Now I'm working with digital pages, and I have been using Cathy Zielski's templates, so the corners are rounded, but less so than the real kits.

I like both, so I'm going to quote you: "It is okay!" :)

I prefer mine rounded. That being said, I would still buy square corners - and just round them myself. I also like to make cards and I often round the corners of them as well.

I really like rounded, but use both. If I'm making a mini album I keep it the same. I don't like to mix them but have before to have something completed instead of "perfect"! Sometimes it's about having a completed project! Happy Saturday!

Oh I like to use both, mix it up and I don't care that it does not match. Im eclectic that way. Life is eclectic.

Mine end up being a mix because I use some pre printed cards that have rounded corners...but I do not round the corners of my pictures.

love the finished look of the all rounded spreads I did last half of 2013, vs. non rounded first half. but do wonder if i'll look back at them and they'll seem especially dated to me because of that. not that that's necessarily a bad thing...for example, i love the vintage b&w photos of my parents with white borders, not so much the 70's colored photos with rounded corners from childhood...i enjoy thinking about weird things like that- how design choices stand through time- all subjective of course, and probably not noticed much by anyone else that will look at my albums..but i think design does register subconsciously...it all matters, and none of it matters really, right? the storytelling/documenting is the big priority of course- whatever works, works!

Mix it up! I started mixing at the end of last year and love it.

Year 5 for me and I'm not a corner rounder. I actually like the idea if the photos being in original form. If years from now when my kids are sifting through albums and deciding what to do with all their mom's stuff, I want them to be able to pull out pictures, divide things up, and what every they decide to do with all of these memories...I want them to be whole. Do you ever think about who will "inherit" all your stuff?

Both! Years from now, will my grandkids say, "Gee Grandma, I wish you had/hadn't rounded the corners on those pictures!"
No, I hope they will just be glad I took time to record our lives. And I think they will be laughing at our clothes and hairstyles and outdated electronics! They won't be looking at photo corners.

I like the look and simplicity of the square photos. Unfortunately, most of my pocket inserts are rounded. I'm always keeping an eye out in the stores for square cards.
I would love some more to purchase ;) ;)

I'm fine either way but I want my corners to be consistent. Until my Studio calico PL kit and Becky Higgins products have square corners, I'll be rounding the square ones so they all look the same. I probably wouldn't otherwise.

For my personal/family project life album I like square corners mainly because that album is just photos + words without many embellishments if any. For my daughters PL ablum, I use the SC kits but my photos will always be square.

I decided before I started PL that I really didn't have time to round all the corners. I like the look, but that's ALOT of corner punching over the course of a year.

I definitely do NOT like the rounded edges. the square edges give a much more clean and finished look to me. it drives me nuts that all the cards come rounded. so I was thrilled when I saw ur cards are square ali! its so easy to round the corners if u want, but u cant make a rounded card square!!!

Mixed... I only round the corners if the card on the other side is rounded. I sometimes have to go to the previous week and round a corner.

I mix it up. I never round photo corners! Cards may be rounded it I'm using ones from different kits that don't match. But mainly, I don't worry about it!

I round mine to match the PL core kit that I use. But I really do prefer the look of non-rounded corners. I just think it looks more cohesive when all the sections come together uninterrupted. I'm too anal to have some rounded and some square so I just round them all :)

Square. I'm too lazy to bother with rounding the corners.

I take your advice from above (no guilt about this) and mix it up. I have no worries at all about it and I can happily admit no one has ever looked through my PL books and asked why the mix of corners. Around here we just roll with it :)
