AEzine Challenge: one little word
Tags:From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.
I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.
Here you go:
Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.
As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:
My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):
I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.
Happy Monday!

Please disregard my previous comment about incorrectly posting a comment under Sara Berry's name, and apologies to you, Sara. I was reading the postings incorrectly - it must be time to go to bed! Lol! All is as it should be.
Goodnight (as I go GENTLY off to bed..)

Here's my word: ENCOURAGE "To inspire with hope, courage, or confidence; hearten." (American Heritage Dictionary).
I want to encourage myself this year. I want to explore new challenges and opportunities; I want to focus on creativity; I want to make important, heartfelt decisions in my life. Mostly, I want to ENCOURAGE myself to go in the best direction for me!

Eating better and making better food choices for me and my family has become our 2007 challenge. So when I heard Bob Greene say "Just do tomorrow" as a way to take things one day at a time ... I thought, I can do this. For whatever reason, it stuck in my head as "Just do today".
Then I found this quote (author unknown) - "This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you will have left behind. Let it be something good."
So my word is Today. My goal is to make it something good =)

Thanks Ali!! What a great idea to have these words. I have been thinking & I choose the word OPPORTUNITY because 2007 is a year when my family will have a lot of opportunities that we didn't have before, like buying our first home.
