AEzine Challenge: one little word
Tags:From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.
I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.
Here you go:
Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.
As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:
My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):
I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.
Happy Monday!

My word is MOXIE. It's like sass, only smarter!
1. vigor; verve; pep.
2. courage and aggressiveness; nerve.
3. skill; know-how.
Thanks for this, it's a wonderful inspiration.

Alie,
I waited too much to post my 2007 word because it's not so easy for my to explain my thoughts in english. But I feel like it doesn't matter, I want to try.
So my word is FIRST, it can seem strange but this year should be for me a year of 1st experiences in various fields and I want that 1st experience very cool & well done because they could very significant for me.
and this post is my FIRST on your blog ;-)

I've had a really hard time deciding on a single word. I've given it much thought, with no result. I appreciate you taking the time to type this list because I think I have found an alternative to having a word. I plan on journaling each day (or as often as I remember - let's be honest), about one of the words on the list. I'll just go in order and write about what the next word "says" to me at that point in time. I am excited to begin...

My word this year is going to be FIND. Here is a quote I found:
You will find meaning in life only if you create it.
It is not lying there somewhere behind the bushes,
so you can go and you search a little bit and find it.
It is not there like a rock that you will find.
It is a poetry to be composed,
it is a song to be sung,
it is a dance to be danced.

I finally saw someone else with my chosen word..."Confidence". I thought more people would have selected it.
Anyhow, 2007 is going to be a year of confidence in myself, my job and my abilities. Hopefully I can enstill that word in my everday life, my relationships and my choice to go to get my MBA. (Whew, I'll need a lot of confidence there!)
Thanks for the challenge...always fun! :)

Thanks for this challenge Ali! I've been thinking about this for a while now, and this challenge may just give me the "kick" I need to get started on it.
The word I chose is "ONE."
I want to be "one" who matters to some-"one"
("If you can't feed one hundred people, feed one" - Mother Teresa)
I want to be more "at one" with my loved ones.
...these are the ideas I will be exploring this year.

I finally took time to read some AEzines and the first word that came to my mind is DO!!! In: do scrapbooking, do organizing, do the blogging, do exercising, do reading, do visiting, etc. i.o. ponder and postpone...
So I already did start a Blog this year and I love to join in! Thank you for inspiring me!

Hi Ali:
Great idea- choosing a word for the year. My word for '07 is SIMPLIFY. Check out this link--

I've even started the process with cleaning out the clutter at home, plus taking a simple and clean approach to scrapbooking!

Ready? My word is NO.
I'm always so afraid of missing out or hurting someone's feelings so I am forever saying YES to everything. Things I don't want to do, shouldn't do, really CAN'T do.
So this year, as hard as it will be, my word is going to be 'No'.
Thanks for the challenge!
xoxo,
Becca

Dear Ali,
thank you very much for your wonderful blog! I came here just a few weeks ago. Since then, I come back frequently, because your inspirations are really great.
Your challange, having a special word for 2007 is perfect. It made me think a lot about what will be important to me this year. Is there a special thing I want to achieve? And my word will be: HOME
Greetings from Bavaria, Susanne

The prayer of St Francis is definitely one to live by - thank you for reminding me of it.
My one little word is CHANGE. As in, "If you don't like something, stop whingeing about it and change it." I'm all for positive change and it is a great word for me at the moment.

Wow, it's taken me a long time to post my word RELAX, but I sure have been embracing the "one little word" concept. I have 4 other friends/relatives who have chosen words (Cherish, Empire, Dare, and Simplicity) and we're keeping track of all these focus words (and associated quotes!) on my blog... http://lawrencoope.wordpress.com/
