Back to reality.
Tags:So here we go, day one of our new "regular" routine.
- I let Simon sleep late since yesterday was such an early morning and late night. When he did wake up he was in a good mood, had some breakfast while watching Mickey Mouse Club House and was then ready to go to school (this is a very good thing). Tomorrow = no sleeping late and tonight = early bedtime.
- Spilled coffee all over my desktop and onto my khakis. Hate that = grumpy. Must get over it.
- Found where Lily (our dog) threw-up yesterday when she was inside the entire day while we were gone. Under my computer desk of course = grumpy. Must get over it.
- Lily just about scared the Fed Ex man to death by bolting out the door. She is one of those black labs that has a really mean bark and no control over how excited she gets when the doorbell rings...and then as soon as she gets near the person she cowers down and does a lick-attack. Great as a guard dog. Not so great as an attack dog. Felt so bad for the guy - he dropped everything he had in his hands. Talk about an occupational hazard.
- Everyday life = gotta love it.
- A to-do list that is a mile long. Must get on it. (Can you see why peace is my word?)
Good news of the day:
My friend Jeffrey has a new book out today available on Amazon: LIttle Gold Book of Yes! Attitude. The cool thing is that this book is the first that my sister edited on her own (and my Mom actually gave some input into it as well). Chris and I got an advanced copy of this book and totally enjoyed it - lots of great truths in there about how your attitude has an impact on everything. Also just saw on Jessica's blog that the book has hit number one today on Amazon. Awesome Jeffrey & Jessica!
And those words - man, so cool. Later today I will go in and adjust the list to reflect all the new words that have been added. I never imagined that this would catch on like it has. Look for a new challenge related to the one little word concept in tomorrow's AEzine.

Mrs. Representative Chris Edwards-
Congrats to the entire family for surviving the election, the move, the new Simon words and for keeping your sanity and love for each other thru the life changes. I didn't get to post my word for the year, but did notice it in the list: simplify. I hope to hit the antique stores and find old, big letters to post the word above my craft area.
Take care of yourself-
Leslie Brown

so cool about your day yesterday Mrs. Representative!! I'm Glad Simon got through without any issues, it can get really overwhelming that whole limelight thing!! And the best news, back to some normalacy, awww, I love that. Routine is a good thing, helps you appreciate when something non routine and exciting happens, plus I just like that feeling of getting stuff done for my family!

I was JUST looking at that book this morning at Borders- had no idea it was your Jeffrey.
Thought of another word for you: THRIVE. (It's what I think when I see your reports on Simon.)

seems you had your monday on a tuesday today, ey? Somehow it's the very ordinary days that nake the rest of the wonderful days more so- without the down days to temper them everything would be so... I dunno. My philosophical brain just left. I think my word this year is "dwell". I tend to get ahead of myself and want to rush ahead to the wonderful days. I want to remember to "dwell" right where I am. Give Simon a huge hug for me! I know all this transistion can get hard on a kiddo. He's been such a champ!

Peace to you indeed. I love your take on things and how you handle it all. The good and the bad. You celebrate the good and even love the not so good or find a way to see their value. Isn't that what live is all about? Embracing it all. Love those flowers on your table. Oriental lilies are among some of my favorite flowers!

I regularly read your blog but don't post comments that often but since you were talking about how your 'one word' concept has caught on I thought you must know that...last night while we scrapped after work we chatted a lot about our 'words'. Also, on the message board that I visit very frequently, check it out if you get a chance: http://forums.cropperscottage.com/showthread.php?t=39417

Jeffrey Gitomer? THE Jeffrey Gitomer??? Man, I have everything this guy has published (I can't help it, I'm in advertising sales!) - I love his no excuses, kick butt attitude. A BIG reason I chose COURAGE as my word for the challange. What a crazy small world. Hey, now I've got another book to pick up! Yay! :)

I loved reading the list of words, I could use all of them this year but the one I keep coming back to is SEE. You, especially, and so many other scrapbookers have inspired me to pay attention to life and not just live on auto-pilot, checking things off my to-do list and falling into the ever present trap of "getting things done". Thanks for your generosity in sharing your life, it makes me want to do the same.

I can totally relate to your day! For example:
Get both kids in car to take daughter to Preschool. Get car stuck in snow trying to back out of driveway. Spend about 15 mins. trying to get us dug out = Grumpy. Must get over it.
Get back home. Get call from Preschool. Daughter has thrown up. Ewww!
ETc. Etc.
Hope your day improves and congrats Mrs. Representative! Thank you for sharing with us. :0)
