Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I have been puting off updating school albums for my daughters. I have a hard enough time keeping up with the everday/life documentation. I would also like to do a heritage album with pictures and stories i remember about my mother. She died 11 years ago...I think it is time to celebrate her not feel sad every time I look at her picture.

I have been putting off my son's book. I finished one for my daughter a while back. Her book was the second one I completed. I think the reason I hesitate is that I have "grown" in my confidence and I am concerned that my son's book might be more creative than my daughter's. Now that I've written this down though, I see how silly that is. Hopefully I've moved passed the "block".

Oooh I really like the mixed up version. :) Great giveaway...
I am putting off baby layouts and I think it's because I feel overwhelmed at the fact that I'm responsible for actually supposed to remember stuff from when my girls were babies! I did not even have a working camera when my oldest was a babe so I have hardly any photos. I think I'm worried about disappointing myself and anyone else that might look at it. Can you help give us all a push? Maybe your pretty new lady will help me get inspired and stoke up the memory pot. ;)

These are great! I have a box full of supplies to make an album of my daughter's last birthday, but have been putting it off because it's just overwhelming & I never think I have enough time to complete it!

Ironically enough, I am putting off an acrylic album project. I have been so intimidated by it! I have to plan it just right so that I don't ruin it, the pictures, or the beautiful papers I have chosen to put inside. But as they become more popular, I have been seeing many many new ideas on how to complete it. I have been gaining confidence every day.
Thanks for the giveaway, I would love to play with these.

Love your work, Ali. You are such an inspiration to me. I have been putting off doing the pages for my granddaughters birthday - I think because it's going to take alot of journaling. I have never done a clear album - would love to try. Thanks for the giveaway!! Renee

Seems like WEDDING is a big theme. I actually made three albums after my wedding but haven't finished the one for us. No reason, just time.
What I've never finished that I really want to is a trip my sister-mother & I made to our "Birthplace" in Mass. It started out so well and again time got away from me. I really want to finish that to tell our story. I owe it to my kids.

i've been putting off my wedding photos (11 years ago now) because i'm so afraid that it won't be "right". i need to just suck it up and do it...we have a formal album, i just want to highlight some more of the casual photos, but i'm paralyzed into doing nothing.

I put off my second son's baby pages. I am so behind on them, since he is uh, FOUR! I am so making him have middle child syndrome!

Ugh...my wedding album. I'm almost finished. Just 10 pages or so to go but I'm sick of it. I want it to look great so I don't want to make the last pages until I'm feeling it or I'll just slap some pics on a page and call it good. Maybe after Christmas...

Hi Ali!
What a fun give-away...I love those mini's!
I've been putting off scrapping the photos from our Europe 2005 trip because I have a ton of them to do and I would like the book to somewhat flow together, which means I need to do a bit of planning. I have gotten a couple pages done, but it seems like I always have DT assignments to work on or projects for magazine deadlines....so the Europe book gets left on the back burner. One day though.... :)
Hope you have a great day!!

I've been putting off starting on my album for our Hawaii trip. I bought the "perfect" album, papers, and embellishments but every time I go to get started I freeze up! I think it's because it was a once in a lifetime trip and I want the album to be just as special as the trip and that gives me instant scrap block. I need to just sit down and start, reminding myself that the important part is to capture the memories!

I am putting off doing my kids school stuff from last year...usually I do it over the summer but it feels kind of boring or repetitive. The holidays/birthdays/sports are harder and harder to do because we do them over and over. I like to try to find new techniques or ideas for the same old events to keep me interested. This blog definitely gives me ideas and inspiration for new ways to look at these events so it doesn't seem like the same old thing.

I have been putting off the layouts of photos from my summer theatre season. I just can't seem to get motivated, and I think it's because I feel the pressure to complete them. Pressure=I don't want to do it. :)
I think the solution is mini albums instead of large layouts. Maybe in clear albums!
Thanks for the give away!

I just put aside my cruise mini-album I recently started (after your very helpful answer to my question in your Q&A posts). I was getting frustrated because I don't think I have enough pics (that has NEVER happened to me before) and I'm just not too thrilled with the way it is turning out. I just keep telling myself I don't have to love it and just finish it but I set it aside and started a card.
You are SO clever with the paint! I love that on the acrylic.

I keep putting of a layout that involves pictures from my tummy progression during the pregnancy of my first child. It's only four outdoor pictures during each season. I am not sure how I want to scrap it. Want to try it for me? : )

I'm been putting off my first child's baby album. He's five now and just started kindergarten! It feels so overwhelming to be so far behind and I tend to want to scrap the more recent stuff. But I'll get it done someday! :-) Thanks for such a great prize giveaway. I've been wanting to experiment with acrylic albums.
