Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)
Tags:This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.
• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

My husband and I make hand made gifts for each. We are always trying to save some money, so this way helps. Plus it means more when you make it yourself. We aren't always together on Valentine's Day since he travels for work, so we exchange gifts when we are together.

My kids and I usually have heart shaped pancakes, decorate some heart shaped sugar cookies, and make cards for one another. This year I think my hubby and I might go to a fun church sponsored dinner and dance.

Everything as always is amazing. I love the Valentine's lines because it works so well all year long, and into so many aspects of my crafts.
Valentine's celebrations here include making cookies (which have to have sprinkles on them according to the kids) and of course special Valentine's for everyone. The kids always draw some extra special for their grandparents cards.

We do the 'usual' Valentine cards for the kids' schools but this year I have some cute Stampin Up stamps & we plan on making some cards instead of buying them. In July it will be our 10 year anniversary so leading up to that I'd like to make Valentine's Day special by giving my DH a few things to reminisce about our dating days. We used to stay up late at the dorms in college & watch old I Love Lucy episodes & we'd do crossword puzzles together while getting to know each other. So I'll be looking for an I Love Lucy DVD set & a good crossword puzzle book along with a special hand made card. I think I'll write each of my kiddos a special "Love Letter" from momma too.

Valentine's day is usually spent with just my dh and I. Usually I cook him dinner - lasagna, garlic toast, salad, etc. I can't wait until next year when we will have our little girl with us to celebrate the day! She will be a special bundle of lover herself! :)

Valentine's is usually celebrated with a dinner. Sometimes we go out, sometimes we stay in and he cooks a nice meal for me. Valentine's is when we officially became a 'couple' 9 years ago. This year our son will be 18 months old. :)

We do a love basket for each of our three kids. It is just a little basket with a couple of toy items, candy and a card. Similar to an easter basket but we call it a love basket instead.

I love Valentine's Day! I usually try to make some cookies (sometimes one big jumbo cookie - yum!) sometime around Valentine's Day for everyone. We usually have a special family supper of our favorites like shrimp, wild rice, sparkle juice in wine glasses, and whatever special dessert I come up with, all served on our china & a pretty tablecloth. I usually make handmade cards for everyone.

Since the kids have all (finally!) outgrown the panicked night before of making valentines for everyone in their classrooms, Valentine's day is pretty low-key around here with a few secret notes popped into pockets and such and, if the stars align just right, a special dinner.

My husband always sends me roses. We have a special dinner. My son gets heart cookies from me. We try to do the same kinds of things every year to build a tradition that my son can look forward to.

We always get heart shaped pizzas for Valentines day. My hubby and I usually have a date night the weekend before or after also.
What great giveaways you have this week!

We've continued a childhood tradition of baking a cake in a heart shaped pan for Valentine's Day. This is something my Mom used to do every year. She also made us a card, with images and text snipped out of old magazines. I loved those cards. That's likely where my own love of cardmaking comes from.

My dh and I usually try to get a babysitter and go to dinner and a movie. I have gotten my oldest son, who is almost 7, a card, Valentine's candy, and some little stuffed animal for the past 3-4 years. I will probably make him a little card this year!

Believe it or not, we have a Valentine's Week and celebrate love the entire week.. one day we do heart cards for our Valentine's Day cards that we make for our friends and family, one day we have heart pancakes and heart love notes for my kids and hubby, one day heart cookies for grandparents since we love them too, we do cupcakes for dessert one day with red and pink sprinkles and we have a nice dinner on Valentine's Day... The key is to keep the love going even when it's not Valentines.
