Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)
Tags:This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.
• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

Valentine's Day is also my birthday, so I get to celebrate both! Usually I take the day off, and do something fun with my honey. We've gone to the auto show or downtown Chicago before. I think we'll do something like that this year, too.

No Valentine's tradition between my hubby and I, other than exchanging cards. But this year or maybe next year I hope to start some traditions with my toddler girl ... I like the idea of heart shaped and/or red food ... plus a special note to tell her how much she is loved! Thanks for the giveaway!

My husband and I usually exchange cards and small gifts. Nothing too fancy. My hubby isn't very romantic. He will suprise me though sometimes.

Yummy products! For Valentines, my significant other usually takes me to an expensive French Restaurant. However last year, a stray cat followed me home from work and we couldn't help but spend a ton of money on cat stuff then ended up taking the cat home with us and forego the dinner and had peanut butter sandwiches instead. LOL!
We now call the cat VALENTINO, or TINO, for short.

I'm sorry to say that we don't have enduring traditions at our house. It seems that as our children have grown and moved out our their own we haven't continued the traditions of cards and cupcakes. I guess it's time for some new traditions! I'll check this list for something new.

We usually celebrate Valentines day by getting the kids a candy heart (filled with individual chocolates) and little love note and a special dinner. For this year I've already made a Happy Valentines Day banner to hang up - I'm waiting for it to get a little closer to Valentines Day so I can put it up.

Ever since I was a kid we ALWAYS get a small box of chocolates from my folks. Now as an adult, my honey and I exchange a box of DARK chocolate truffles. And we usually go to dinner with a wonderful single friend of ours who does not have a sweetie. Lately we've done it the weekend after to forgo the craziness of the day and the crowds.
At one point in my life I had a truffle company and we made literally hundreds of truffle for Valentines Day out of my tiny home kitchen and they sold like CRAZY! In fact perhaps this year I will make some homemade truffles, hmmmm.

DH and I usually swap Valentines. We always try to do something sweet for our daughter. My favorite part of Valentine's Day is receiving my Valentine card from my father. He always gives mom,his daughters and daughter-in-laws cards for Valentine's Day

valentine's day has definitely become a family affair with our two toddlers at our knees. :-) that's ok...we'll have many years "alone", right?!?! anyway, the boys and i always make handmade valentines to give away. last year, we had a nice family dinner with a heart-shaped cake...not too fancy, but filled with lots of love!

Valentine's day tradition is a romantic dinner out and an exchange of cards. Always cards from the first year we met. Often he makes one for me!

Well, it is my first year married...so I'm betting our V-day will be a little more "low-key" this year. I'm hoping for maybe a nice dinner out or a crock-pot dinner & a movie...just a little quiet time together! =)

For us Valentine's Day is all about the memories--it was our first date, though it was not supposed to be a date. We don't need the gifts but we cherish that it is another day that we can share our love for each other!

Lots of crafts and lots of love! We've already pulled out our Valentine's decor: felt hearts, paper hearts, and such. We'll be busy making more until the big day. It was so much fun to see the excitement my five-year old had in looking at her Valentines from years past. The girls will get heart-shaped everything in their lunches: PB&J and cheese and salami. Honey and I make the girls a special dinner then share a dessert together after bedtime.

Last year we started a new tradition. Instead of exchanging presents among the four of us - we pooled the money and went overnight to the Great Wolf Lodge. The kids were almost 3 years old and 5 and all of us had a blast. I think it is a tradition that we will continue. The family time was priceless and meant more to me than flowers or jewelery.

This year, it would be good to make a mini-album of favourite photos of each child and my husband, and give it to them!

During the day my daughter and I bake cupcakes and decorate them together--then we make Daddy's Valentines Card and either make his gift or wrap it--We started this last year when my daughter turned 3 and she loves it! It's fun for us to create together and we both get to surprise Daddy with a loving (I would say romantic but somehow that just doesn't seem right, lol) dinner and a yummy dessert for 3 at home!

My husband's birthday is on Valentine's Day so we celebrate Valentine's Day on the 15th. That way we each get a special day! And yes, this was actually my idea, not his!
