Beinging a full time elementary teacher, I enjoy reconnecting and spending quality time with my own children(7,11,&13)during the summer. We spend hours at the beach, pools,playing volleyball, riding bikes, hiking, going to Tahoe, horseback riding, and having long lazy dinners in the backyard. These are the times I treasure most and document in my scrapbooks. Summer is my time to breathe and relax!

I like how summer is capable of making you feel more relaxed even though you still put in your 40 hr week, cook dinners, do laundry, etc. Everything is better under a little sunshine!

In summer I love to see fireworks! In Japan, there is some kind of festival every weekend which finishes with "hanabi". Japanese fireworks come in cute shapes like smiley faces or octopus. It's the perfect way to spend a summer's night...drinking beer, having a BBQ, laughing with friends and holding hands with a cute guy under the firework explosions. :)

Trips to the zoo

I love being outside and eating strawberries right from our garden.

Swim Team! My kids play different sports throughout the year, but summer swim team is my favorite! I love the sense of community and how everyone cheers for everyone else's kids. I also love seeing the teenagers helping out the younger kids. It's a wonderful part of our summer.

I love being outside and eating berries warmed by the sun right from our garden.

One of the things I love about summer is how daylight seems to stretch on an on. I love how it doesn't get truly dark until after 9:00 p.m. It brings back lots of childhood memories for me and how we used to spend all day and all night outside playing and having fun.

Picnics and bar-b-q's! Then of course, the fun drive-in movies in the cool evenings.

I love the longer daylight hours of summertime.

The thing I like best in the summer is the flowers, green grass and cool summer nights.

I live in Chicago, so we treasure our Summers :-) I love the sunshine and color, lots of color: being able to wear pretty sandals and colorful clothes, planting tons of different color flowers, grilling and being able to be outside more.

The best part of summer is that our grandchildren are with us during the day while Mom and Dad go to work. I am especially excited to care for our new granddaughter who is now 7 weeks old. They bring such joy and happiness to my life. Of course, many more photo opportunities to scrapbook! Thank you, Ali!

I love summer - this summer however will be the best. Our first son was born April 18 and I get to stay home for the summer and hang out with him. We will be going to the zoo, out for walks, and visiting grandma. So far, visiting our friends(how have kids) has been great :o)

Love, love,love the longer days. Loved the more relaxed feel of evening meals...more grilling, more summer salads. My husband is a school teacher-off each summer, and the household is just always more relaxed.

I live in the southern part of Texas; we pretty much have summer ALL YEAR LONG interrupted by a few cold fronts. My favorite part is having my street fill up with kids playing outside.

My family and I are all about camping in the summer! We love it, just hanging out with friends, swimming, hiking and of course eating! Good times!!!

I love the long warm days and camping trips and bbqing and eating outdoors.

I love the sunny blue skies and warm nights; catching lightening bugs with sticky fingers from the ice cream pops. I love long afternoons and tall glasses of ice cold tea. I love the new moments that can be captured on camera. I love cookouts and salted cold watermelon on a hot a summer afternoon. Water fights and swimming until our fingers prune up! What do I love about summer? Everything!
