I love fresh fruit, such as ripe watermelon, and picking strawberries from the field (not that I have a field in this area, but would love one.)

Definitely getting to stay outside longer. I love when I can still sit outside with a book and a drink and it's still warm.

Love, love, love the summer, especially the break from homeschooling. I love sitting by the pool with an iced tea, a good book, and sunscreen on my body. I love to hear my kids playing and having fun. I love not having to wear a coat and having a cup of ice cream after dinner. I simply love everything about summer except for bugs and high humidity!

In summer I celebrate the absence of snow! With a full 6 months of WINTER, the warmth and lack of snow make summer especially nice. I like being able to wear open shoes and short sleeves. I also celebrate being able to hang my clothes out on the line. Nothing makes them smell better than that! Fresh sheets just off the line make me wriggle with joy when I go to bed.

Living in Hawaii now and I don't feel much in the way of seasons, however I loved the summer peaches growing up in the Central Valley of CA. Still do!

When our children were growing up I'd hear other mothers lament & complain about having the kids home all day. But to me, it was my favorite time of the year--going & doing with our children, & just having tons of fun! (Wish I had a digital camera back then!) But now, we're retired & live in a beach city, so every day seems like those old summer days. I'd have to say that for now, the Fourth of July is my favorite thing about summer.

Hi Ali,
My favorite thing about the summer months is exploring the beaches at low tide. The smell of salt & seaweed, the sound of waves and finding wonderful surprises always bring me a sense of pure joy!

I love that the summer months give my grandchildren more freedom to spend time with us...not having to work around scheduled activities and homework. I also love that it gives their parents a break from schedules that are too tight.
And for activities, how could the beach not be mentioned. I live near some of the top ten beaches in the US, and find the ocean to be refueling, while also giving me memories of my childhood, same feelings...just a different ocean). I think the whole package is part of my soul.

I love the long days! And now with a little person- watching her discoveries- the bugs, the flowers, etc!
