I love having no commitments, being able to come and go. Go slow and enjoy the season, good friends and family.

Things I love about summer: Christmas, my birthday, warm evening cocktails, running to avoid burning feet on hot pavement... (oh yeah, I'm in the Southern hemisphere!)

My favorite thing about the summer months is not having to get up early to get my little girl ready for school! We all get to sleeeeeeep peacefully until well after 8 am. :) I can't wait!!

I love the long days, warm sun, being outside as much as possible and going to the pool.

Ah, sweet summer! I love the creativity that it brings. The kids get creative with the extra time; they draw more, play imagination games more and use their imagination more. I love the bare feet in the grass, ice cream trucks, night swims in the pool. Just the peacefulness of not having a rushed schedule.

My favorite thing about the summer months is the longer days, especially the ones filled with sunshine! I'm looking forward to seeing my 2-year-old discover the beauty of summer this year.

The best thing about summer is the free concerts in the parks. New York tries to make up for its humidity with lots of great activities.

My favorite thing about summer is our family vacation. A few weeks volunteering with teens at a summer camp. My year is planned around our weeks there!
Unfortunately this summer, with the downturned economy, my husband's vacation has been changed and we will not be able to go as a family-the first time in 12 years.:(

My favorite thing by far (other than the warm weather) is not having schedules. No appointments, no speech therapy, no bedtimes, no set get-up times, no getting dressed times....
I love the freeness of the day.

I have lots of favorite summer things, but what I cannot wait for is the fresh fruit. We live near lots of orchards, so we pick strawberries, blueberries, cherries and apples there. We could also pick raspberries, peaches, and pears, but we have just bought those at the farmer's market. About one more month and then our fruit harvesting starts. =)

sounds: cicadas chirping, kids splashing in a pool,
smells: grilling dinner, fresh cut grass, sunscreen lotion
sights: vivid blue skies & puffy white clouds, bathing suit clad kids running by, proud smile from a caught fish at the lake.
    can't wait...it's all around the corner...enjoy!

My favorite thing about summer is that autumn and winter follows - just a few months away! I despise Georgia summers - they are miserable! I know I am in the minority - Oh, well!

    The sunshine, warm weather, swimming, being outdoors and the change of pace from the rest of the year {slightly less crazy!}
    Thanks,

My favorite thing about summer would have to be the early mornings when the air is damp with morning dew. It reminds me of when my dad would take me to horse shows.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

The long evenings--perfect for just hanging out with my husband outside, grilling, eating fresh tomatoes off our plants and taking it easy!

Frozen Lindy's...YUM!!! My grandmother used to freeze root beer in a paper dixie cup and called them "Lindy's"...as a child I loved peeling back that paper and eating the iced root beer (we had no money and I guess it was her version of a snow-cone!) I make these for my kids every summer because they bring back such great memories!!
