Summer reminds me of the birth of my children. Both were born in July. When the weather warms I feel the rush of love that I felt the first time I layed eyes on them! Even thou they are away at college, just seeing the bright sun and warm wind, I can feel them close. Hello summer!

I love the long daylight hours!!

Hot days & muggy nights, sprinklers & grillin',

My favorite thing about summer is swimming! I can't wait until it's warm enough to swim.

Quiet mornings working while the kids sleep in...hot sunny days spent playing in the sprinkler or pool...baseball games...sun-kissed cheeks...blond highlights...sundresses...lightning bugs...barbecues...campfires...s'mores... I love summer!

Staying up late -- since I don't have to get the kids on the bus at 7 a.m., I can stay up later!

Catching fireflies in the yard with the kids, the farmers market, watching the kids play baseball/softball, swimming @ grandpa's house, and lazy mornings.

My favorite thing about the summer months is definitely flip flops!!! I also enjoy all the happenings and goings on... planning some fun family activities for our weekends together!

I love family getaways where we can't be distracted by everyday life and errands and just enjoy eachother.

I love sleeping in a bit and having time to organize the house since I teach school and don't work in the summer. Ah, bliss! I love being able to go to Portland on a WEEKNIGHT! Maybe take in a concert at the zoo, or hit a brewpub with my husband and spend more time with family. Sitting on the deck...the list goes on and on.

Oh my, I so look forward to summer time because of the laid back-ed-ness.. the spontaneity. The memories made!

My favorite thing about the summer months is that I am not ALWAYS cold. From about October to April - I am just, well, cold all the time. So I get to thaw out in the summer months. I really like that!!
