You've certainly given me a lot to think about this weekend! As for a favorite childhood memory... I'm very keen on the time my mother took me and my American Girl Felicity doll to Williamsburg Virginia. History totally came alive for me that day!

My favorite childhood memory from summer was the year my Dad planted corn in the back yard. It was a very small garden on a typical postage stamp property in town, but I saw is much bigger. When I walked though the rows of stalks I pretended we had huge fields of corn; that I could get lost in the maze of it. Even though it was proboly ony 4 or 5 rows of maybe 12-15 ft., it was my own personal Kansas. I chose Kansas because of the Wizard of Oz, it had corn fields in it. :)

My favorite summer memory is sleeping over at my grandma's house, swimming in her pool, watching movies and cooking with her. She doesn't live close so the special quality time was really meaningful. And she just had to sell her house, so the memories mean even more to me now!

Summer camp. I went to day camp starting in Kindergartner. As I got older, I started going to sleep-away camp for a week at a time. I met some of my closest friends during these summers. I enjoyed the camp life so much, I became a camp counselor in college. It is where I met my CBFF (camp best friend forever). We are still CBFFs today. She was the maid of honor in my wedding. I married the love of my life, who I met at the same camp!

EASY PEASY. MY MAMA ALWAYS MADE SUMMER FUN BUT THIS MEMORY WILL ALWAYS STAND OUT BECAUSE WE ALL HAD A BLAST, LITERALLY. IT WAS DURING THE TIME NERF WAS HUGE AND MY BROTHER HAD A LEAST A ZILLION OF THE GUNS AND AMMO. SO ONE HOT AFTERNOON WE DECIDED TO STAGE A WAR. I MEAN STAGE BECAUSE WE TURNED ROOMS INTO CAVES AND COUCHES WERE SAFE BASES. I STILL DO NOT KNOW HOW BUT WE PULLED IT OFF WELL THAT EVEN DAD HAD NO IDEA WHAT WE HAD DONE THE ENTIRE DAY. THE HOUSE WAS BACK TO NORMAL BEFORE HE CAME HOME FROM WORK. AT ONE POINT DURING THE WAR I HAD EACH OF THEM CORNERED, I WAS SOLE AMMO RECIPIENT. THEY JUST KEPT SHOOTING ME AND I NEVER SHOT BACK. THAT LEFT ME WITH ALL THE AMMO. GOOD MEMORIES. SUMMERTIME IS THE BEST TIME! Thanks.

My favorite childhood memory is when we had a round 3-foot pool in our backyard when we were kids. The best thing is when my dad would actually come in. He would float around on an intertube, and my brother and I would put on our huge googles, and we would dive underneath him! We always had so much fun, and my mom and dad always called my brother and I "fishes". My sister and my mom never did like the water as much as we did!
That tag pack is fantastic!! Have a great weekend!!

Definitely some of the first few summers spent here in Arizona. We moved here when I was 11 and we were in shock at how hot it was. Some of my fondest memories are how we occupied ourselves during the long months because it was wayyy too hot to spend all day outside.
A memory that stands out in particular was me, my younger sister and two brothers turned on the hose in the front yard (which was mostly dirt) and got soaking wet and FILTHY with mud. There was always an ice cream truck that happened by a couple times a day and we flagged them down and each begged my mother for money for ice cream. (which she usually didn't give us but did that day)
I remember the smell of the water and dirt on the hot pavement, the warbled sounds of "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" coming from the ice cream truck, doing the "ouch ouch" dance in the street while selecting our items from the truck (the pavement was HOT and we were all barefooted - we took turns running to the muddy yard and back to the truck again) and the feel of the still hot pavement on the backs of my legs as we sat on the curb and ate ice cream and laughed at how filthy we all were. I remember it like it was yesterday. It wasn't long after that summer that childish things like that weren't of my interest anymore...growing up and becoming a teenager brought a new set of interests (boys...makeup...mall stalking) but that is my fondest summer memory of the last sweet summer before I "grew up".

My favourite summertime memory is really a collection of memories...we always had a road trip as a family and whether we had a plan or just followed the wind, mom and dad always made it really special for my sister and I.

Favorite summer time memory is going down to the beach with dinner. Mom would pack chicken and some salad and we would eat and go for a swim - no crowds and not near as hot! Thanks for the chance to win a great prize.

One of my favorite summer memories was when my cousin and I were 5 years old, sitting in the "cheesey patch" (it's marshmallow root-we liked to eat them) picking cheeseys, deciding we could sell them to neighborhood kids for a penny a piece.;) It was only 3 or so years later that we really started doing bake sales and making goodies to sell door to door, and with the money we made we bought flowers and supplies to make hair clips. We called our little endeavor "Little French Nots" and sold tons of them! It was awesome, and we were always so thrilled to come back with cash. The best thing is that our parents thought we were SO clever, and said we were their 'little entrepeneurs'. Sadly enough, it only lasted a short while, as I was a little to self conscious later, and didn't like going door to door, but the making of pretty hair things never went away, and once in a while, we'd bribe our little sisters to do it.... A little silly, but it is a great memory, and I haven't thought about it for a LONG time... maybe I really should get serious about my little etsy shop... hmm... :)

My favorite childhood memory is playing Ghost in the Graveyard in our neighborhood with all our friends...the funny thing is that whenever someone in a car would drive by one of us 'hiding', they would honk their horn...oh the fun we had - no TV, no computers...just good old outdoor play until the street lights came on.

YOSEMITE! Many summers we went to Yosemite to laze in the river, listen to park rangers tell history and stories around a campfire, horseback ride and YES take pictures! In 2 weeks I will get to share all those memories with my kids, as we will be there the 1st week of August. I can't wait to take my "good" camera, with the "big" lens and capture memories new and old.

My favorite childhood memory is spending my summers on Middle Bass Island (in Lake Erie off the Ohio mainland) at our cottage. We would water ski, play flashlight tag and softball and swim all day long.
