My summer memories are filled with vacations, the beach, and family gatherings but the ones that hold a special place in my childhood mind are spending endless hours playing in the backyard with the neighborhood kids creating mud pies, building forts, and having the ability to spend all day letting our imaginations lead our adventures.

My favorite childhood memory is going to Disneyland every summer. I had two older sisters and we would all pile into our Very Green Pontiac Firebird and head down there singing "California Here We Come". I was always so excited to see Donald!!
So many cute pictures from those trips - all of us with our red faces -- we didn't have air conditioning in that car!! lol --

spending hours on the Slip n slide with my brother, hearing the music from the ice cream truck and scrambling to ask permission and obtain 15 cents in time! Also, playing outside until the street lights came on. (It kind of makes me sad that my daughter will miss out on that memory, but there is NO way on earth I would let her do that now, and we live in an extremely safe neighborhood/city)

The first thing that comes to mind about the summers of my childhood is playing on my green (metal!) swingset in the back yard. A simple pleasure. I still love to swing!

Summer camp, definitely, the first time I did an eskimo roll in the kayak, dinners in the big dining hall, sunset prayer group on the lake surrounded by the majesty of nature. I know I was incredibly blessed to have those experiences.

My favorite childhood summer memory is playong in my Grandma's backyard in the sprinkler (one of those old metal ones where you turned a dial to change the shape the water being sprinkled out) and filling up old wash tubs with water and then sitting in them....talk about make your own pool! Afterwards my grandma would give everyone 7up in steel cups with a cherry in it as a treat...

We had a small steel-wall pool about 2 feet deep, and we lived in it all summer long.

Remembering those wonderful memories while I tell my son about staying out til dark chasing fireflies, playing ball in my friends yard, having no concept of time. Taking "Sunday drives" to the country because all the stores were closed, the days seemed to last forever.

My favorite memories are travelling to my grandparent's house for vacation - walking to the lake to go swimming, stopping for ice cream at the Dairy Queen on the way home, and hanging out on the front deck visiting. My aunt now lives in my grandparent's home so we visit with my children every summer and do those same things. I love it.

Favorite summer memory from childhood: walking our bikes down to the snocone shack to savor a blue bubblegum flavored cup of shaved ice. Doesn't get better than that!

my favorite childhood memory is hanging out in the garden at my grandma & grandpa's house....especially in the raspberry patch. We would belt bucket to our waists and pick berries....very worth it when Grandma made fresh raspberry pie with ice cream as our reward!!!

It has got to be all the long summers spent at grandma's summer cottage. Sleeping at the attick like sardines. Swimming in a lake. Berry & wild flower picking. Bonfires during nightless nights (it's light all night). Sauna. Grandma singing to us in sauna........ <3
Loved, loved, loved all your layouts in Creative Keepsakes again. The circle ones are always my favorites.

My favourite summertime memory was spending time at my grandma's farm. Both grandparents have pasted and the farm has been sold off. I do miss those times and would love for my children to have been able to see and visit it. To experience what life was like, simply, free from tv and buzzing noises, to relax and have fun with family.

All of my fav childhood memories center around me and my 4 siblings playing all day, everyday in the backyard-swimming and swinging and playing on our bikes pretending we were school busses picking up kids in the neighborhood. Gosh I miss those carefree days!
