My favorite childhood summer memory was simply going to the beach with my girlfriends. Bikini, flip flops, tanning oil, a towel and miles and miles of white sand beach.

Favorite childhood summer memories were spending time at my grandparents house without my parents. My sister and I would get to go for a week on our own growing up. Such fun memories!

Summer was just the best for us! When we were kids, my mom would join us outside and help build forts for our star wars, barbies and g.i. joe toys...we'd dig small trenches for "rivers" and make huts. it was so fun using our imagination. my mom would hang bed sheets around our patio to create "walls" for our pretend house. she would fix us koolaid,a picnic lunch and we'd have absolutely the best time creating a world for ourselves outside...no tv, internet or video games back then. just good old fashioned fun.

My favorite: playing games with my family every evening in our vacation. I loved it. We sat together, played, laughed and had many fun.

when i was 7, my mom, dad and i loaded up my dad's big blue van and went on a road trip to disney world. we stopped at koa camps from texas to florida and had the most wonderful time. my dad was killed in an accident not even 3 years later, so the memories from that trip are etched into my mind forever.

roller skating! I can still picture my skates - pom, poms and all. I could shoot the duck with the best of them...

Hi Ali,
My favorite summer memory was that every weekend, my mom would pack a picnic lunch, our swimsuits & towels, and pile all of us kids in the station wagon with one friend each and head to the closest lake for a day of swimming and FUN! (sigh!) Those were the days....

My favorite childhood summer activity would have been reading a favorite book in "my spot" out in the pasture where I wouldn't be bothered!

Favorite summertime memory would have to be the time spent at my dad's cousin's pool when I was growing up - I am an only child, and my dad's cousin would open up his pool to all the neighborhood kids, or anyone we could think of bringing over - there were so many wonderful memories there! My cousin was also a great chef, and so there was always a BBQ going and life was good!

Lots of great memories! Building forts, finding tadpoles, catching fireflies, going to Dairy Queen, learning to ride my bike, my Grandma's yummy mac and cheese with sweet pickles on the side, playing with my cousins at the family reunion where we'd make ourselves sick eating apricots from our Aunt Ginnie's trees!

My family didn't have much money for vacations when I was a child, but I'll always remember the Sunday afternoons when my Mom would pack some sandwiches and soda, and take me and my brother to Hunting Park in Philadelphia for a picnic. We would walk to the corner of our street and take the #13 trolley car (can't BELIEVE I'm remembering these details!) which would drop us right at the park. There was a classic carousel, with gold rings to snatch and all, that I would ride over and over (it was free!). Thanks, Ali, for helping me to remember these cherished times! (And, yes, I STILL love riding carousels!)

Summers as a kid were spent running through the front yard sprinklers and enjoying old fashioned popcicles.
Great memories...thank you for giving me pause to remember.

Love this etsy site! I used to love fishing for perch up in the Santa Cruz mountains. My dad would take my brother and I and my best friend, Jenn. We'd come home smelling of sun-screen, dust, and algae water. Then my mom would fry them up. Good times!

Growing up, we went camping a lot during the summer months. It wasn't at one certain campground, we traveled to different states to go camping. I remember chasing after fire flies at night and sitting around the camp fire roasting marshmellows. One time, we saw a moose running through our campground. Something I don't see that often.
