As a younger child, my siblings and I rode our bikes everywhere around the neighborhood, exploring & venturing pretty far from home. I'd NEVER let my kids do that now days, at least unsupervised. As an older child I loved going camping & enjoying the sound of the wind through the pines & quaking aspen. It was so peaceful!

When I think of summertime as a child, I think of one of my earliest memories, of eating watermelon beside of my Grandma's porch. I was so small, I remember that I didn't have a shirt on, so I could get as messy as I needed then be washed off with the water hose. Good memories.

gotta be camp- evry sumer for 11 summers- the woods, the trails, horses, the pol, all the great friends ai made, amazing stargazing and TAPS talks, songs I still sing my daughter, and cheering our lungs out after dinner at the boys side of the mess hall, in southern KY. All the rest of the summer paled in comparison to those 2 weeks that eventually turned into my wholesummer as I grew older. All scrapped, have to say!:-) I love this kit, and was thinking about a mini book for 2009 before my daughter goes into kindergarten.

My favorite childhood memories of summer are the times spent camping with my family in Oregon and Alaska. There was nothing better than exploring the woods with my sister and brothers! Its too bad our family doesn't have many photos from these trips.

My favorite memory would be spending all day outside with my neighborhood kid friends playing Indian Ball in the culdesac. When the heat of the day kicked in, the ice cream man would make his appearance or we'd get to have homemade popsicles of kool-aid or grape juice. Mmm!

I was at the beach alone with my Dad and it was deserted (probably not summer, but a beach memory). We were sitting in the car watching the sand a nd surf. There were several hundred seagulls walking around and pecking at the sand. We had the windows open, and Dad turned on some really beautiful instrumental music. The segulls took flight and started swooping down as if they were dancing in time to the music. It was strange, and awesome, and beautiful. It made me feel like a higher power is behind life, and that no matter what happen's - IT WILL BE OK. This was almost 30 years ago, but whenever I recall that time, I am at peace.

My favourite childhood summertime memory would have to be long walks alongside the Stour river and when we got to the "end" (Flatford Mill, made famous by John Constable) we would sit down and have an ice-cream. It was alwsys packed with tourists and visitors and great to people watch as we went through our usual walking/ice-cream routine.

I loved sitting on the front porch after dinner with my grandma. I would sit on the steps and just gaze up at the stars

I remember our nation's bicentennial year. What a celebration it was. We went to the pool for the afternoon (I'm sure the temp was over 110). My cousin Kim tried the high dive for the first time and bellyflopped. Well, her dad was in that water faster than the lifeguard noticed that she was slightly hurt. Then they did a money drop from a helicopter at the park. I don't remember if I even caught one dollar but I remember it being fun. Then we got to watch the fireworks. They were spectatular, at least in my eleven year old mind. I'm sure there was homemade ice cream and lots of family. Those were the days.

My favorite Summer time memory is going camping and traveling the US with my parents and brother. I sure didn't appreciate it at the time, but I do now. I have almost accomplished with my kids (seeing the US) what my parents did for me! I hope it will be their favorite Summer memory!

Free wheeling down hills on my bike with the wind in my hair and the sun on my face. Nothing like that feeling.

Going to the Flintstone Park in Kelowna one year, and we we were driving there through the mountains and my Dad told us that we were about to drive THROUGH A CLOUD!! and we were so thrilled (until of course we saw that it was not, in fact, like fluffy marshmallows, but just like wet fog).

My favorite childhood summertime memory was going to my grandparents orchard, picking fresh fruit; cherries, plums, apricots, peaches, and grapes. My brother and I would ride on the cart behind my grandpa's tractor, climb the trees with fruit picking buckets, then take home the" fruits" of our labor in big wooden lug boxes. I'd fill the popcorn bowl with fresh fruit and eat until I was completely satisfied. No fruit has ever tasted as good as the fruit from my childhood!
