My favorite summer memory is a family trip to North Carolina - we went white water rafting and everything that could go wrong did. The bus broke down, my uncle overturned and lost his wallet and so on and so on, but it was one of the best family vacation ever.

Hi,
My favourite summertime memory is having our 2'x3' sandpit converted into a "swimming pool". We put in a polythene sheet and filled it up with cold water. Brr. It was such good fun.

I live in Aust. so its winter now (but it seems to be the same temp as some countries in the north). its crazy how the world works. Summer is such a big part of my life here, birthdays, holidays, christmas, new years... most wonderful time of year. The one that keep poping into my mind is walking home from the beach covered in sand and sticky from the salt eating an ice-block. I know you said childhood but this is what i do each and every year. Now i'm an adult it doesn't happen nearly as much as i would love. Thanks for the chance to win!

Walking to the beach through fields with my Nan. She was like the Pied Piper with me and a string of little cousins in a line behind her. We sang songs and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine... happy times!

My favorite childhood summertime memory are those large family potluck barbecues after a long day of haying. There would be cousins to run around with or to take a dip in the samll home-made "pool" made out of a large tank!

My favorite summertime memory was when our parents would rent a camp on Lake Champlain and we would hang out with a Canadian family we meet our first year there. Their family had 4 kids and so did ours. We all "clicked" and by the end of the week we were all adding "EH!" to the end of our sentences.

Picking black berries in New Hampshire on a PAL vacation. For this NYC girl, picking our own wild berries was a new experience and so much fun.

I spent so much time at the pool as a kid. I did swim team and then I would play with it was open for public swim. All my friends would be there and we would make up games and race against each other. And then when it closed for the day we would stop at this deli and get a soft pretzel for $1 with ranch dressing to dip it in.

My favorite summertime memory is when my BFF came to spend the night. We had just taken down a pool in our backyard and we used the pool and a couple of sheets to create our very own "tent" in the backyard. We slept outside in that thing for almost a week. Good times!

My summer time memory would have to be Sunday afternoon walks with an older neighbor lady who at the time took my sisters and I on long hikes in the woods and we cooked out near little streams near our home. This would also be followed by enjoying her garden of wonderful fresh veggies and spending time with her in the evening playing Dominos and watching PBS because we lived in the "country" and didn't have cable .. the simple life before things got so complicated and hectic. Oh, to go back for a visit and really enjoy and savour each moment.

My favorite summer childhood memories center around weekends at our place in the mountains of North Carolina. The weekends consisted of exploring trails on motorcycles or in jeeps, bonfires at night, swimming in the lake, Sunday lunches on the porch, and late night card games.

We lived in the boonies. As kids (with mom at work) we would pack a picnic lunch and just take off for the day. We would hike in the woods, swim in the creek, pick wild black raspberries, and just have an adventure!

Having bbq on the beach in Sweden, with the best hot dogs ever! I was 8 and loved it. Being up way to late, looking for fossils on the beach. Sitting by the fire....
