One of my favorite summertime memories was the vacation in Port Huron, MI. My sister and I took the bus so there would be room for the dog in our car with the rest of the family! On the way back, we all had to squish into the car because of a bus strike!

I remember loving to visit my "Grand-Daddy" and "Aunt Emma"- marking the doorway with a pencil to document inches grown, eating fried chicken on Sundays, sitting on a pillow to see out the car window on our way to the park, playing dress-up with his hats, holding his strong hand to cross the street.

The neighborhood kids always had a "carnival" on Labor Day weekend for the Muscular Dystrophy telethon. Do you remember how you could write in and get a "carnival kit" with game ideas, clippable tickets, prize ideas? Always fun!

Going to the beach early in the morning - having my mom cook breakfast, lunch, and supper over a fire - playing all day in the sand and cold lake water - sleeping in the back seat all the way home.

My favorite childhood summer memory is the many hours we spent outdoors whether in the pool, at the lake, or riding bikes.

My favorite memory is biking to the lake with my friends for a swim. We would buy licorice and chips and just play all day. The lake was disgusting though you couldn't see a thing underwater from all the algae growth. It always makes me laugh to think what kids put up with for a little fun!!!!!

Every summer for as long as i can remember my family, has gone camping, we have traveled in all of europe... (we still do so, by the way)
When me and my siblings were small, all 4 of us used to sit in the backseat of our Citôen singing our heart out, while driving from one contry to another.
It always make me smile when I think of it! :-)

Swimming for sure. I would be at the door before the pool opened. I would ride my bike home when it closed. Have supper in my swimming suit and head back to the pool for night swimming. Ride my bike home at 8:30 and enjoy some homemade popcorn my mom would make for me. I don't know what I would have done if the town I grew up in didn't have a pool.

My favorite childhood summer memory are those of going to the mountains with my family. We played games in the car, went for hikes, visited with friends, went fishing & swimming, and just had fun. Those are wonderful memories! Now our children are getting a chance to do the same thing. Each summer we spend at least one long weekend at the mountains with my parents. The girls really love it & look forward to it each year!

My favorite summer time memory is our family trip to the beach house. No TV, computers, phone, just us talking and having fun. I wish life could be this simple everyday.
