My favorite memory is having grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins over for games of softball in our backyard. What made it fun was we used a giant orange plastic bat and large wiffle ball to play. Lots of laughter and memories came out of these afternoons spent together.

My favorite summer memory as a child is running around barefoot eating popsicles. The heat would be so hot (in southern Idaho) you'd have to eat in a hurry or the sticky popcicle juice would run inside your halter top!

As a kid, we always went camping/exploring in the Western part of the U.S. every summer, for about two-three weeks each trip. We had a big Dodge van that my dad outfitted with a set of cot-type bung beds, turned the very back into a kitchen area, and we used chicken boxes for drawers under neath the bed. We camped, saw many different national parks, read a lot of comic books, and ate way too many bolonga sandwiches. I remember it as a time of exploration and my parents allowing us to explore camp grounds on our own. Things I would never imagine letting my kids do today!

The summer before I turned 13, my brother and I spent an entire month with my grandparents in Texas near San Antonio. We spent a ton of time with my cousins swimming and my grandma took us to the Alamo, the Riverwalk, Sea World, Padre Island and a bunch of other wonderful places. It was a wonderful summer trip!

Spending the afternoon down by the creek with my brother and grandmother, trying to cross it on the rocks and not slipping off them because they were covered with algae, looking for crayfish and minnows, skipping stones on the water.

one of my favorite memories is sitting on a big rock outside our house, with a dime in my hand, waiting anxiously for the ice cream truck to come by! every time i'd get a huge bomb pop, the red white and blue ones.

Because my grandparents were German, and still lived in Germany, I treasured my time with them. We would go for visits only every couple of years. But when we were there, it was awesome. They lived in a small town outside of Munich. They had a garden, fruit trees, and old barn and lots of cats. Eating strawberries fresh-picked that morning dipped in a little sugar is something I still think about each time I eat strawberries!

my dad would ask me if I wanted to take a ride in one of his 1930 s cars and we would go to the corner strore where he would give me some money to buy candys. Back then candys were between 1 to 5 cents and you could fill a brown bag for 25 cents!

Although I thought it was torture at the time, my favorite summer memory is the road trips that we would take all over the country.
One of my strongest memories is sitting in the back seat or the Cutlass Oldsmobile with mom and dad in the front, yelling - SHE IS ON MY SIDE!!!!!

My favorite summer memory is camping and fishing with my dad. He taught me to whittle with a pocket knife and a stick. I can bait my own hook and clean my own fish, which greatly impresses my 3 little boys!

I would have to say that my favorite memory is of our annual family camp with our church. As a city girl, I loved being out in the "wild", taking hikes, swimming in the large camp pool, and hanging out with friends. Loved it!

going tubing down the Arkansas River with my cousins, aunts and uncles when I was elementary school aged. And then having a cookout in the evening followed by playing hide-n-seek in the woods. scary but fun!

My favorite summer memory was of when my Mom would make homemade chocolate cake & home leamonade then serve it outside under the trees in our backyard To this day the only leamonade I make is homemade.

going to the local beach with my mother every afternoon and getting so excited when my dad came at 5:30 after work. I vividly remember seeing him walk in the gate and run down to us, get undressed and run splashing into the water...oh to have some photos of that time would make me so happy.

The memory which springs to my mind is going on the annual outing to the seaside. The preparations, checking weatherforcasts and then the ride in the car to get there. Once every year I found myself swimming in the salty water and sun bathing on red cliffs warmed by the sun. Pure bliss! The memory is vivid and sure has influenced my choices later on in life. I now live by the sea and try to give my children similar memories to keep!
