Visiting my grandparents for two weeks with my brother. My aunts, cousins, etc all lived within walking distance. My grandma would always give us $1 to go to the drug store at the end of the block and come back with candy to fill up her candy bowl. We would also go to 'potluck' at the Tuolome River Lodge. The best part of that was swimming in the pool and walking down to the river. One summer my parents picked us up, drove us the 5 hours home to newly redecorated bedrooms.

Mine would be laying out in in our yard at night, trying to find shooting stars and constellations. I now try to do that with my boys.

Girl scout camp! My family did not take vacations but my parents sent me to two different girl scout camps for two weeks each every summer from 2nd-9th grade. I looked forward to it every year and have so many great memories (and some really lousy pictures!). Would love to do it again.

My favorite childhood memory is running out to the front yard when I heard the ice cream truck approach. Nothing beats a popsicle in hot weather!

Oh, this is an easy question. I loved, loved, loved being outside with all the neighborhood kids playing kick the can! We would play for hours and it was always so fun! I miss those days! We live in the country now and I have 3 little boys of my own and there are definately times I miss living in a neighborhood with all kinds of friends to play with!
Love the giveaway goodies! Thanks for all you do, Ali!

My favorite childhood summertime memory is more around a place than a specific memory. We used to spend an entire month in the summer staying in the Philippines where my parents are originally from. It would be times full of playing, of just being a kid, forgetting about all the holds on you. Even though we rarely did anything special during those months, it was all about spending time with family we rarely saw and relaxing. That's probably the root of what a vacation is to me, the relaxing and letting go of the everyday real world.

My favorite childhood memory is building playhouses in the trees with my sisters and cousins. Hours and hours we spent outside...and I'm sure we ventured inside when it got dark and no one ever checked on us. How times have changed!

my favorite memory is playing in my pool, then walking to my friends house with bare feet to go play in her pool. I loved our warm summers!

My grandparents own a ranch in a rural town about and hour away from where I lived. I used to LOVE going to spend the summers with them where I would get to see all the baby animals born, get up early to feed them and then ride next to my grandpa plowing the fields. Not every childs ideal summers...but boy do I miss mine.

Getting the courage to finally go down the big slide at the pool. The ladder was the scariest part because you had to stand on it and wait and it had over 30 steps. It was the greatest thing when you joined the big kids and went down that slide!

My grandparents lived "up north" in Minnesota and I spent weeks on end up there exploring and helping my grandparents with chores and reading books and just enjoying the summer with nothing to do but be a kid. Those will always be some of my most cherished memories.

swimming, swimming, and more swimming. I love the water and growing up in an area where summer is 100+ degrees -means that water is a necessity to stay cool. The feel of water when you first jump in and it surrounds you - then when you pop up for air - pure delight!

Being around 4 or 5 years of age and following closely behind my dad mowing the lawn with my own toy lawn mower. Dad got so hot he took off his t-shirt, so being the 'daddy's girl' I was...I would copy him :)
What a sight!
