Sponsor Giveaways: SewCute Shop

Sewcutegiveaway

One person will receive a Women's Auty Top from SewCute Shop (you will be able to choose your own fabric from her current stock):

Here's a little bit about SewCute Shop and Brandy's mission to do something really good for another family:

I started sewing sometime last year and fell in love. My grandmother (Nana) taught me the basics of pinning patterns, hemming, and seams. After being taught those skills I have really been a self-taught seamstress. I have a true love for putting the most trendy fabrics together and making 'SewCute' items. The items I place in SewCute Shop are my favorites and I am very happy to make them for you.

In March 2009 my best friend's little boy was suddenly diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) - a degenerative brain disease. The movie 'Lorenzo's Oil was made to bring awareness to this newly discovered disease. In early April, Joel, Teresa and Riley Greene aka TEAMGREENE were moved from Chattanooga, TN to Durham, NC where Riley would spend what they thought 100 days after receiving a bone marrow transplant. Due to complications, this week marks 133 TEAMGREENE has been in Duke Hospital.

I made a pledge to donate all proceeds from SewCute Shop to TEAMGREENE until they returned home in Chattanooga. For me sewing has become much more than just a hobby it has been a small part of what allows my best friend to stay by her son's side. For more information on TEAMGREENE visit www.carepages.com/carepages/teamgreene and create a username/password.

When I'm not sewing away I enjoy spending time with my fabulous husband, Ty and two children Autumn (9) and Tyler (2).

I had Brandy make one of these for Anna (see above) and one of these for me (love wearing it over my jeans) and they are awesome.

We give all of our money/donations to our local church, KLove.com and the local thrift shop, which supports a homeless mission here in Ogden, Utah.

What a sad story. I lost my dad to a brain tumor, so that charity is very close to me. http://www.braintumorfoundation.org/
I'm definitely going to check out that shop for something cute to wear after my baby is born in two months!

One of my favorite charities is the Free Wheelchair Mission which turns ordinary plastic patio chairs and bike tires into wheelchairs for the needy in third world countries. This is such an important mission...I hope your readers will look into it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed about those cute tops! The main place I donate money to the United States Olympic Committee, I started with the USOC as an Intern in 2003 and I wouldn't have the job I have with out that experience. Donations help athletes live out their dreams to participate in an Olympics.

Our family donates to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org) ever since my cousins were diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes nearly 20 years ago.

What a beautiful top, and a wonderful cause! My favorite charity is Habitat for Humanity. I've been a volunteer for 6 years, and there's nothing better than letting a family know they've been chosen for a home! Thanks for another great giveaway.

I lost a childhood friend to melanoma at age 34. She left behind a son, not even 18 mos and devastated friends and family. They celebrate her birthday (this Monday!) every year with a party and are extremely active in OutRun the Sun, http://outrunthesun.org/, which my family participated in for 3 years. I named my child, who was born 3 weeks prior to Pam's death after her, giving her the same middle name.

    Hi Ali:
With so many charities, how do you choose a favorite? Usually because it hits close to home...i would love to begin with an awareness for children with seizure disorders. My son, Mac, has a seizure disorder and has suffered with it for 12 years now (since age of 5). I can tell you that there definitely is not enough awareness for this disease. So, with my very best efforts, i would love to see this become a charity some day; for the thousands of children affected.

The lady responsible for starting this special school was my first mom friend who also had a child just dx with Autism. I'm excited that parents in my area will have a place for their young children to learn when they are faced with the extra challenges that come with a disability.

My father in law passed away last weekend under the care of Hospice. I don't know how the people that work for them do it, I know it takes special people to do that kind of work where they experience death day to day. So here is a link for our local Hospice that took care of him in his final days. www.hovf.org

My favorite charity is Children's Hospital in Omaha. When my daughter was 7 days old we spent a week there trying to figure out what kind of infection she had that was making her temperature run so very high. The doctors and nurses there were WONDERFUL. When she was 4 months old, we had to go back for a kidney operation (related to the previous infection), and she's had tubes put in twice and holes in her eardrums patched and each and every time, everyone from the receptionists to the nurses and anesthesiologists and doctors have been incredible.

My favorite is charity is called necessity bags. They provide all the essentials a woman will need after mastectomy. The bags are about more than supplies. They are always delivered and the contents are explained by a cancer survivor, providing great support and easing nerves.

    Beautiful clothes, beautiful charity.
My favourite charity is Smile Train. They allow children in third world countries to get cleft lip and palate repairs that they wouldn't receive otherwise. Without the repairs, these children cannot go to school or get a job. My son was born with a cleft lip and palate this year and obviously it has become a cause close to my heart.
