Dear Kokuyo Dot-N-Roller I Will Miss You So

Yes, it's pretty silly and a tad melodramatic to be sad at the loss of my favorite adhesive.
But when you work with adhesive as much as I do, and you finally find one that is reliable and feels darn good in your hand, it's a big bummer to have it go away. Yep, in case you haven't heard yet Kokuyo will not be distributing the Dot N Roller in the US anymore.
I am starting to test out some other permanent brands including the Tombow Mono, the Therm-O-Web Memory Tape Runner (I like many of their other adhesives), and the 3L Easy Runner (which I don't like as much because I found that I like dots rather than tabs). I am still resisting that Scotch ATG mainly because it seems so big and bulky, but I might just have to try it after reading so many positive reviews both in comments here and elsewhere. If you use the ATG do you use the red one or the yellow one? Does it go on like dots or tabs?
So what are you testing out or using now?

I use the ATG and absolutely LOVE it. I bought the gun and a whole box of tape refills at the same time and I still have a few spools left after a year and 1/2. I vote for the ATG!!

Well Ali....I have commented on a couple of others posts so here is the skinny in my world...ATG 714 Red one that I have used Alcohol Inks on to decorate it up a bit! It is the most reasonable in the long run...and it works well....I can even turn corners put the tape down and squeeze the trigger to roll let go of the trigger at the corner and turn your paper squeeze the trigger and go until you reach the next corner and continue in this fashion. I have discovered that it is easiest to lay the tape down onto paper first if your going to use it on ribbon if that isn't an option take regular scotch tape and tape the ribbon down onto your work surface and put the ATG tape on that way instead of fighting with the tape and ribbon. If for some reason you have an over run on the tape it will roll right off with an adhesive eraser. Give the ATG a good week of using it daily for the learning curve...Maybe I should do a U-Tube video on this tape gun and the use of it...LOL Best Wishes Ali on your quest but I know that the ATG won't let you down

I use the tombox curved adhesive runner. I really like it most over all that other tape runners. But I'm really looking at the Glue Glider Pro because I too get really tired of running out of tape.

I love the ATG. It is bigg and bulky, but that means I never lose it! Well, almost never! And it is not heavy at all. Plus I've had it for over a year and changed the tape so many times and never once has it gotten stuck or weird. Always dispenses perfectly IMO.

There is nothing better than the ATG guns. I love them both. I never run out and spend about 1/4 what I used to on adhesive. I'd compare it to dots. I held off thinking it looked like a clunky Home Depot tool, but the first page I did with it...I knew I'd never turn back. I use the red and the yellow so I can have the choice of 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch tape at all times. It looks big, but doesn't feel big when you use it.
Love the ATG and order the tape online by the case with friends once or twice a year. So cheap and easy.

ATG RED! Love it! I use to buy tombow by the case, but got sooo tired of it not sticking well. So, I eventually tried getting used to my bulky ATG that I had been avoiding. By the time I used the 2 rolls that came with it, I was addicted. I still have 2 boxes of tombow that I will never touch. I use the ATG for everything in scrapbooking AND real life! LOL Its amazing! Sticks better then anything I have seen, easy to remove if you need to, permanent when you want it to be ..... you'll be so use to the size in no time ...

I like the ATG 714. It is a smaller runner that the ATG 700. It's not heavy at all and you have a good amount of tape. If you look at www.framingsupplies.com the price is not bad. Good luck.

I swear by the Tombow Mono adhesive and buy it by the case.

I have the red 3M and love it. I went with the 1/4 inch rather than the yellow. I figured if I needed a wider line of adhesive I could just roll it twice. It goes on like the tombow but is so much more economical. It really doesn't seem too big once you start to use it.

I use the red ATG. It goes on in long strips - until you let go of the handle. I won't ever go back to using another kind of adhesive.

I have the red ATG & I love it!!! Its a continous tape but it sticks so well & I love that the roll lasts for a long while. It looks big & bulky, but really its not. I don't think I'll ever go back to regular adhesive runners.

I have used the Herma Dotto since I started scrapbooking 9 years ago. Love, love, love it. Would not use anything else.

I have the red ATG and just love it! It's not really either dots or tabs, it makes a solid strip of adhesieve. I thought it would be too big and bulky too, but it's so great!!

I love my glue glider pro! I like that I can use dots or tabs. It's only draw back for me is that the handle is a little too short.

I have the red ATG, and I like it so far but it's not the same as the Dot n roller. It goes on more like tape and sometimes you end up with a little excess, but you can easily roll it off. Can't wait to hear what your replacement turns out to be!

I work in a craft store and I really like the Tombow Mono and the Glue Glider Pro. I think the Glue Glider is a little stronger adhesive than the Tombow, and it has a narrower strip than the Tombow, which I love for adhering ribbon. But I use the Tombow at home, because the Glue Glider Pro is a lot more expensive.

I like the Tombow Mono because it works well for scrapbook pages and cards. I still keep other adhesives around. You can never have too many adhesives!

I have been using the TomBow Mono now for 3 years and love it. It is continual adhesive so I also use glue dots for other projects
