How Do You Read Blogs?
Tags:Have you read the news that Google Reader is going away?
Which leads me to my next question...
How do you read blogs these days?
Via a reader? Via email? Via bookmarks?
I've been using Feedly for a bit now and love the clean streamlined design plus it looks great on my ipad which is where I tend to read blogs the most (thanks to Peppermint for the tip on that one a few months back). I also just have a set of bookmarks in Firefox toolbar that includes blogs I like to visit from time to time. I do have a couple blogs I subscribe to via email that I really don't want to miss.
Thoughts?

I was using Google Reader (I'm guessing it's the same as iGoogle?) and was really disappointed to hear they were discontinuing it. I subscribe to a lot of blogs so having them in one spot is nice. I tried Bloglovin but didn't like the list format. I also follow a lot of blogs by email, some I have in iGoogle, some I don't mainly because I don't want to miss content.

I've used bloglovin' for a couple of years and it works ok. But I also have blog list on my own blog that I use daily for my favorites. Will most definitely check out Reader/Reeder,Byline and Feedly. Bloglovin on the Ipad isn't great...

I am trying Feedly and not sure that I love it enough to say that is the one I will be using. I plan on trying out a couple more and then deciding as we still have a few months before our beloved "google reader" goes away.

I have been using bloglovin' for a while and it is super easy and functional - I recommend it. It has an option to divide blogs into categories so you can read what you want when you want. I used bookmarks but then I would get sad when I opened a page and there were no new posts.

I love Bloglovin' because, unlike a lot of other readers, I can visit the actual sites rather than just see the content of posts. You can miss a lot if you're not viewing the site as a whole!

I was a Google Reader addict. I got alllll of my blog reading done through there. It's so nice to just go to one place, so I was devastated when we got the news it was closing. I too have switched to Feedly and I like it a lot. I feel like I am able to get through my reading in less time. A tip on how to subscribe to new blogs on there once reader shuts down can be found on this teacher tech blog I read: http://www.freetech4teachers.com/2013/04/how-to-subscribe-to-new-blogs-in-feedly.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+freetech4teachers%2FcGEY+%28Free+Technology+for+Teachers%29#.UV13lRml2Uc
Enjoy!

I've set up a separate blog on blogger that has no content, just several blog lists on the sidebars. That way I have the various blogs categorized and blogger bumps them to the top of the lists when there are new posts.

I've been using Bloglovin for some time now. I generally view bogs on my phone or on my desktop. It works fine for me, though sometimes it takes a while for new posts to show up in the queue... Bloglovin is how I know when you have new posts!

I have a LOT of blogs saved in Reader. Some I look at every day and many that I don't, but I have them when I'm in the mood. I just downloaded Feedly yesterday. It's working so far. I hope it works on it's own when Google Reader goes away, because right now it seems like it's just feeding through Google.

I used to use google reader but they are discontinuing it. Feedly is set up to make a smooth transition and I am loving it so far. I also put some blog feeds on my home page which is ighome.com which is also a substitute for a discontinued google product igoogle.com. With feedly I get a blog post title, with ighome I also get a pic and I have a separate "page" for art stuff so it can be organized.

i just add favorite blogs to my reader on my own blog (using blogger.ca)
i get updates when i feel like checking them out, and not get my inbox inundated with email updates.
love it.

I've always been the one who actually logs onto a blog to read it. Even if I email subscribe, when I see a new post I click to the blog to read. Feedly looks kind of neat though, I might have to check it out. Do you know if it reduces the page count on those blogs though?

I'm using Feedly now as well. Love it! I would love to read on my ipad, but I so often want to pin things and haven't figured out how to do that on the ipad. Does anyone have any tricks for that?
