Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I started a mini book called My Story. I wanted to use this to document (without pictures) my journey from Viet Nam to the States in 1975. I wanted my children to know the story. However, I haven't been able write it.

The 'back to school' layouts.... I'm in denial, as much as I like fall... I don;t feel like I really enjoyed summer!!

I've put off the kids' school albums. I've only saved a few key items from each year, but I have several years worth. I could eliminate a tub next to my scrap table if I'd tackle this one.

I have put off my son's baby book. I have bits and pieces stashed here and there, but haven't taken the risk to dive in yet. (Oh, and he'll be four on October 2nd - it's time, isn't it?)

The album I have been putting off doing, is one of my first dog. We had to put her down after 12 years the end of April. It is very difficult because she was SUCH a HUGE part of our family. My boys grew up with her. I think I've put it off just because the memories may be difficult to deal with, but I will tackle it soon.... we just got a puppy this week, NOT to replace her, but to create many more happy memories........

I have been putting off finishing my album from last Christmas. I was SO excited about it and made a good start, then my computer crashed and I lost all the pictures stored on it so I need to collect pictures from several family members and their cameras as well as my own. So much extra work for what should be fun and I have just not done it.

My wedding album and baby albums for my 3 kids. I have to release myself somehow of needing perfection. I have released myself when it comes to other layouts, but it's a lot easier to just do a page than tackle the pressure of a whole album. I'm getting closer :)

I have been putting off finishing two albums - a college graduation and a vacation. They are 95% done, but I just rather start something new :)

I have been putting off baby albums! Maybe it's because I have too many little ones and not enough naptimes!!

I have been putting off even starting an album for this year. I am in a rut. So I think for an album I would make one of our annual camping trip.

Ooh-- I've been wanting to try clear albums but haven't yet. These would be great.
The project I've been putting off is scrapping my ivf journey, now that I'm pregnant, but worried about it not quite working or jinxing it somehow! (I scrapped my previous treatments in a mini-album, but had a loss so the album had a totally different ending than I was expecting. Despite or maybe because of the sadness, I'm really glad I made it though). But I have a nice pile of stuff relating to the more recent ivfs just ready to scrap when I muster up the courage.

My biggest conflict: Taking time from making memories to make time to preserve memories. It is a constant battle. My biggest project I have been putting off my two son's first year books. My oldest son is nearly four and my youngest is 9 months. I am laughing to myself as I write this, but is it silly to say that I am most paranoid about them because I want them to be just perfect for them, their significant others and future children to look at enjoy decades from now? Best regards.

About a year ago my Dad asked me to do an album of my Grandpa and late Grandmother, who passed away in March of 2007, as a gift to my Grandpa. I bought special supplies and gathered all of the pics but have yet to even start. Every time I sit down to do so I just feel paralyzed. Looking at all of their sweet memories and knowing how much we all miss her just makes my heart melt, and I really want the album to fairly represent my feelings.

I have been putting off an album about my relationship with my maternal grandmother. I know what I want to say - I have just been unable to decide on the presentation.

I had my 3rd baby in April, and I wasn't scrapbooking when I had the other 2, so this time I was going to make sure to take lots of pictures and put together a great first year album. I knew it would go by too fast and I'd forget all the wonderful things about having a newborn. Of course, I've taken lots of pictures, but she's almost 6 months old now and I haven't done a singe page for her. It makes me so sad...
