Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)
Tags:This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.
• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.
[ Three Things is a weekly product series : check out the archives here. ]

Such cute Valentines Stuff! For Valentines day, my hubby and I take a half day off work and go to eat for lunch (then we don't have to fight the dinner crowd) and then spend the rest of the day/evening at home enjoying each other's company. I love it.

Well I have more of a story for valentines - February 2007 my husband and I opened a little envelope given to us by the ultrasound technician when we had our 32 week 3D ultrasound. We waited until Valentines to find out if we had a little girl or boy growing in my belly. This envelope had been taunting us for weeks - carefully we tore the top and inside was a little note that said -"It's a Boy"!!
Best feeling in the world...
Most years, however, I made handmade cards for my friends and family using cut paper and my sewing machine...they are quite lovely.

My mom makes us each a traditional heart sugar cookie with our name on it. She used to make one for every other student in our class when we were in grammar school. We look forward to these 8 inch cookies each year. We also celebrate by getting a heart shaped pizza from Me-n-Ed's and have pink milk shakes and eat by candlelight. Simple but very much a tradition in our house. (My daughter also gets heart shaped sandwiches for the whole month of February in her lunch)

Every year I make my kids pink heart shaped pancakes with pink milk to drink. Sometimes I hang heart strings across their doorway to surprise them when they wake up. I also write them little love notes telling them why I love them. I do the same for my husband too. It makes the day seem more special when I try to make it different from every other day.

I have a special table cloth (whie with red heart)and cook supper that is only red and white (spaghetti bolognaise with red jelly and vanilla ice-cream for dessert). I give my sons something small but thoughtful and my Hubby gets his girls a little something something too.

We don't do anything special on Valentine's Day. Sometimes I get some flowers, sometimes we go out for dinner. It is more important to me to let people I love know how much I appreciate them on a more regular basis. This is one of the goals I hope to achieve this year.

Every Valentine's day, I order something to be delivered to my husband's office. Nothing embarassing though! I've done pizza, giant Mrs. Field's cookies, local carmel popcorn...This way, I'm not suckered into inflated chocolate or flower prices plus he can share with everyone in his office and I look like the coolest wife ever. Mission accomplished!

I always make cute Valentines for my closest friend and give them candy. Just because we're not in 5th grade anymore doesn't mean that they don't like cartoon candy. :)

This year is going to be a little different for us...we usually have a romantic dinner for two. But this year we have our little baby to share it with, so we'll have to start some new traditions. I'm thinking we will make sugar cookies and take the grandparents some valentines!

I always make Dan a new dessert every year. He loves his sweets! We then make dinner together and usually go to a local candlelit ski (hike if there is no snow). It's low key, but very sweet.

I love showing those I care about how much I love them on Valentine's Day. I usually try to do something simple and sweet. This year I am going to make my hubby and myself some matching sleeping masks and I'll probably send him on a love scavenger hunt. Hopefully I'll make a craft or treat with my son.
Love your blog! Thanks for taking time to do this!

I'm trying not to be a downer, but I hate Valentines Day. I dearly love my family and celebrating that love every day, but Valentine's Day is a hoax set up by people to make money. Sorry. That said, I love all the scrapbook stuff for Valentines Day :) and I live your blog.

Usually DH and I exchange cards and cook something special for dinner. We'll pop open a special bottle of wine and snuggle up on the sofa in front of a warm fire. I usually get my niece and nephew a little something just as an extra "I love you".

I always make valentine heart pancakes for breakfast and this year will be different as my husband is now travelling, so I will be planning to make something small to tuck into his case to show him how much we both love him!

14 years ago my husband asked me to marry him, so before we had kids we always had a special date night. Each year was a suprise from him. Since we had our babies almost 3 years ago our new tradition is to have a romantic dinner by candlelight for 4. It's even better now with them.

Now that the kids are out of the house my hubby and I just have a special dinner. When my 3 girls were in HS and before they had any boyfriends we used to make the day Bloody Movie Night---we would watch some action packed movie with good looking men, but NO romance--that way the girls didn't feel like they were the only ones without someone.(the evening also included lots of chocolate) It got to be quite a tradition and all of their single girlfriends coming to our house! :) Of course this was only for a few years but I love the memory of it!

I usually handmake something for my husband, and we go out someplace nice for dinner. We don't have any kids yet, but last valentine's day was especially special because that was the day my husband proposed!

My husband and I switch off from year to year on the planning of Valentine's day, so it varies, but it usually involves a nice dinner and chocolates. =)
