Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)
Tags:This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.
• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

I love to make cards for my friends and family. My husband and I find some time together, be it an evening at home or dinner out. Just to take a moment and reconnect. I also like to make cookies with my son.

I am excited about starting traditions with my kiddos. I haven't decided what to do yet, and hoping the blog world will give me good ideas... but he is old enough now to remember and I want to start something special.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Valentines Day is just so sweet - I love it! I have a little basket of treats for each of my kids ready when they wake up. And everything we can turn into hearts that day, is - peanut butter sandwiches, ice cubes, etc. Such a happy day!

For whatever reason, V Day is like the beginning of spring for me and my hubby. Hopefully, daffodils and spring bulbs are poking out of the ground and the days are getting a bit longer. I have 3 kids and for the last couple of years we have the obnoxious purple, hairy monkey holding a heart, it shakes and makes funny noise. So, the Valentine monkey is always part of our holiday tradition of our sweet and simple Valentine celebration of each other. For us Valentine's Day is kinda like a 'spring' version of Thanksgiving. We are thankful for each other and share small personal tokens with each other.

My husband and I don't really do anything to celebrate the day, but the tradition that has become favorite is handmaking all of our Valentines. The kids get to help with the ones for their classes and then I make each one a special card of their own (and hubby too, lol)

...Valentins day is not celebrated that much here in Germany, and since we all celebrate our birthdays in February anyway its a celebration month for us with lots of things going on, but I might make a heart shaped cake for my hubby again this year...;-)

I don't know how I will celebrate Valentines Day this year. I have not been looking forward to it as my friends son passed away on Valentines Day last year. I know it will be a hard day, but I think I will focus on celebrating life, love and relationships. Thanks for always inspiring me Ali, not only in the area of creativity, but to truly stop and cherish the important things in life.
Blessings.

We celebrate as a family with heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast, and usually a heart-shaped pizza for dinner.

My husband and I have never been big fans of Valentine's Day, so years ago we decided to celebrate it a little differently. Every year, we go out for burgers and my husband gets to pick any movie he wants. And I do not complain. Even the year he chose "Daredevil" and it was quite terrible. That is my gift to him.

I think I am comment number 1179 according to the counter on my computer... that is amazing! I make cards for both on my (adult) children and they still save them. Plus I buy them a favourite treat. My daughter spilled coffee on her card from last year and she asked me to make her another one to replace it with a new one. tooo funny.

Valentine's is just 6 days before our anniversary so we celebrate big---lots of love. Every year we try to surprise each other with something different-last year (our 15th ) I made him an album of fifteen things I loved about him. He loved it!

From homemade heart pancakes in the a.m. to homemade cards fro classmates to homemade frosted heart cookies for dessert at our candlelight dinner, we do it up big. Being a teacher, I tend to be very thematic and look for any opportunity to get my kids involved. We LOVE crafting and baking for holidays together!

My husband is usually out of town for work, but I always get a little surprise of some sort, or we celebrate before he leaves. On the actual day I usually give the kids a treat from see's candies and take them out to dinner.

Valentine's Day was my father's favorite holiday, and we always got a nice gift from my parents--usually a new sweater or some article of clothing. After I grew up and left home, he continued to send me gifts: flowers, packages of specialty cookies. . . I've continued the tradition and make homemade Valentines for both of my adult children who now get a gift card inside the Valentine. My husband and I exchange cards and usually go out to dinner. This year we have tickets to see Jersey Boys instead.
