Project Life® 2018 | Week One

Welcome to  Project Life® 2018 | Week One.

This week I filled almost every single pocket with photos because I had a specific story to tell and I used those 3x4 pockets in the middle of the  Design A Page Protectors to tell that story.

Here's a look at Week one:

On January 2nd I started a 30-day free yoga series by Yoga With Adriene on YouTube and it's been awesome. I made a deal with myself to do it before I start my work day if at all possible and have been doing it in my office and I have been really, really enjoying the daily practice. I've taken a photo of myself with the self-timer on my iPhone each day (and have been sharing those on my Instagram Wellness account) and love being able to include them in my pockets this week.

My title card is from the new Stories By The Month™ and the "totally into this" card is from the For The Love Story Kit™ (you can still grab this one until the 12th of January).

I totally love how the 3x4 strip turned out. I started with a card that told the story of what was happening and then added a photo of myself for each day. On top of each photo I added a chipboard heart (Edited: For The Love Story Stamp™ now on waiting list) and a white number sticker that was included in the December Daily®.

On all of the 4x6 photos for this week I added a label sticker + a black and white word/phrase sticker from last year's One Little Word® sticker bundle

As many of you know one of the things I love doing with Project Life® is setting up a design formula for the week and then repeating it multiple times throughout the spread (usually either three times or on every photo or all photos of the same size as I did on this spread.

I also love that this spread is a great example that you don't have to do everything the same every week in this project. This week I put photos in just about every pocket and next week I might have more words than photos. Let yourself be flexible. Obviously there were more stories here in our house this past week other than me doing yoga each day, but this is what I chose to focus on this week. Be the boss of your stories and remember that you absolutely don't have to include EVERY SINGLE STORY and EVERY SINGLE PHOTO you might take during any given week.

The key here is to have fun, to fill in the pockets, and to get some stories told.

Here's a video overview of my process for creating my Week One spread:

Here's to telling stories in 2018!

Can I still order the story stamp/kit add-ons? I thought it's only possible until the 15.
Will it ship free or with the next kit?

Hi! You can order the Add Ons throughout the month after the 15th (if they are available/in stock) but you do pay shipping. The incentive is to add them before then to be able to have it included in the initial shipment.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video, Ali. I always love what you produce, but I'm really loving seeing the process. Your suggestion to just use a few supplies for a spread is great - I get so overwhelmed by the supplies, I tend to give up before I even get started. I've started Project Life again (on and off for several years now) and am implementing a lot of the suggestions you've made: start with pictures first, you don't have to document a story for every day, just get it done, etc. and it really seems to be working out. Thanks again and I hope you keep up the videos for PL throughout 2018 - I am so inspired by them!
