Katie's Project Life 2013 | Week 3 + Week 4
Tags:Welcome to Katie's Project Life 2013 | Weeks Three & Four.
Wow-- this project rocks! I am so enjoying putting it all together.
This week was all about adjusting back to work and real life after being gone for CHA. Peter's family came for a visit for the weekend so I needed to put my living room back together after the big paint job. I am loving the white.
I used my cursive typewriter to journal on the card next to Paolo and I. Love that thing. I found it at Goodwill for $2.
The "hello sun" is from Ali's Hello Summer 3x4 Life Boxes. This time rather than using the Silhouette to cut it out I just added the PNG file to the photo and printed it with Photoshop.
The two yellow journal cards are from Pebbles Seen & Noted 3x4 Journaling Cards. They are so fun.
The "Hello Beautiful" is a file that came with the Silhouette Studio Software. I was playing around with the new Silhouette Sketch pens (the pen replaces the blade so instead of cutting it sketches the design) and loved how it turned out so I decided to slip it into a pocket this week. I LOVE those sketch pens. I am so excited to try out all of the colors, including the glitter and metallic ones.
Here's a look at Week Four:
It was Mr. Simon's 11th birthday this week. I can't believe he's 11. Where does the time go? He was 7 when I started nannying for him. It's been so special to watch him grow these last 4 years.
I also had a great week of thrifting, and found a great little grey typewriter. I added Ali's "this is love" from The This Is Love Brushes and Stamps, because of course, I love typewriters.
On the photo of Anna, I added these cute ombre stickers from Studio Calico's new Sundrifter Collection.
The "pie" stickers are from Dear Lizzy's new Lucky Charm collection (available soon).
We went to a fun to bar on Saturday night that had mason jars for the glasses and vintage suitcases and cameras for decorations. So fun!
The "cheers" is from Ali's Joking Around Brushes and Stamps.
IDEA | Add two 3x4 cards (these are from the Seafoam Core Kit) to a 4x6 photo using Freckled Fawn Pink Airmail Washi Tape. The tabs to open them are from October Afternoon's Farmhouse and 5 & Dime Word Sticker Sheets.
Inside the flaps I put two 3x4 photos on a 4x6 canvas in Photoshop, printed it out, added the cards with washi tape and then journaled on the back of the card for the corresponding photo. It turned out really fun, I will definitely be doing it again. It's a great way to add some hidden journaling and hide some crazy photos from our night out on the town.

Hi Katie! It has been nice getting to know you through Ali's blog - great work on the PL album! I have a question for you and Ali - I really enjoy using an old typewriter that I found at a yard sale but haven't been able to find anywhere besides Amazon.com to purchase the ribbon for it. Do you have any inside tips on a good site to purchase typewriter ribbon?

Tell us more about your typewriters - I've never heard of a "cursive typewriteer" The one in the photo looks so cute! Do you collect typewriters?
Great pages!

Hi Lynn,
The cursive typewriter I found is just a regular typewriter that has a script font instead of the usual font most have. They are pretty rare, but you can find them on Etsy and eBay occasionally. I don't collect typewriters, but they are my favorite thing to look for when I go thrift shopping for my Etsy shop. I have had good luck in finding them here in Eugene. :)

Hi Ali,
Love your projects... great inspiration in all of them!!
How do you print your photos (3x4 and so on for project life)? Do you use any special programs & or printer?
I am in the market for a new printer and program. I have used
persnickety prints before, but was unhappy with quality of prints.
Thanks so much!

Katie - You are rockin' PL! Love looking at your pages! And I would kill for your living room - but with a 14 month old, I don't see that happening. ;)
