Week In The Life™ 2015 | Friday In Album

On Friday of my 2015 Week In The Life™ album I used the repeated phrase "the story of this photo." It's another one of those simple, focused sparks that helps get to the story told. I usually try to include the why along with the who and what and where and when.

For my spine this year I simply added the year "2015" using the white letter stickers from the kit.

Here's a look at Friday:

On the Friday card I added "we do" and detailed some of the things that are important to use around here. Simple stuff like "We do coloring books." and
"We do lazy Saturday mornings."

On top of each photo I added the digital word art "the story of today" before adding my journaling (which you can read here). I saved that word art and am making it available to you below:

Download "The Story Of This Photo" here

On Friday I had one less photo so I ended up filling that pocket with some of the ampersand pattern paper + chipboard geotag + perforated word strip + letter E inside the geo tag.

I decided to skip the 3x4 card insert for this spread since I added a pattern card to the other page.

I spent some time today looking back through older photos from 2009 and 2010 when Anna was a baby. Man I love photos. This project always, always, always results in photos that I will remember for years to come and I'm so happy to have a home for them in this album.

This is awesome. Love that photo of you and Anna, she looks so grown up even from last year. Thanks for the free word art Ali, much appreciated! Ps. Is it weird that I stalked your site knowing that 7:30pm my time is midnight in the US and hoping that Friday would be up - and it was! I think I have an AE addiction!

Thank you for the word art! This is a great prompt, too. I'm really getting the itch to get started. I have to sit at the machine at the drug store with my memory card and that's a feat for me. I know once I can get that done it'll fall into place. But your album, your photos, your stories, beautiful. And so real. Michelle t

Will someone maybe explain to me what the difference is between A Week in the Life and Project Life? They both seem to be documenting a week, and if you do Project Life (which I believe you do, right?), then how does AWITL differ?

    *Love your work!

Week in the Life is an in-depth look at a full week, whereas Project Life (the way Ali approaches it) is an overview of a week. The difference is scale more than content, I believe. I think Week in the Life projects also tend to include more of the "constants" (daily routines, for example) than Project Life. When I did Project Life weekly spreads in 2012, my pages tended to be the "highlights reel", and I didn't even necessarily include a photo from each day.

Project Life is usually one photo for each day. Week in the Life is many photos and much detail for each day of one week. Hope that helps! :)

Yep, pretty much what they said :). I started this project in 2005 and have done it once a year since then. It is one whole week inside one album, going into more detail on the stories of each day. My Project Life® albums are annual and are more week-at-a-glance/highlights.

Thank you for the word art! I've been kinda stumbling around with my journaling for one of the days, so going to try the "story of this photo" format and see if that works.

This was my first attempt at WITL, and I'm so excited that I actually finished it too! (I seem to have a hard time finishing projects.) I love the album and will be doing this project again. Thanks so much for the inspiration, Ali. Maybe this is the year I finish a December Daily too!
