December Daily™ 2012 | Day Nineteen
The letters have been written (a little later than usual this year).
Love watching them during this process - or helping as the case was with Anna. Lots of enthusiasm and excitement.
Here's a look at each page:
Santa is from the December Circle set. I added "dear" on top in Photoshop.
I cut one of my 4x6 December Sentiments using the Silhouette and slipped it into a page protector.
I hand-wrote "hello santa" using an Zig embossing pen.
You can draw or write anything and then emboss as you usually would with embossing powder. Embossing Pen + Silver Zing + heat gun.

so Awesome Ali. We don't have kids but one of our highlights is getting a letter to Santa from our nephew and making sure the jolly fellow puts a reply in the post before Christmas (we are interstate). Santa always writes something that only he could know through Christmas magic, making it all very relevant and personal. I forgot to ask for a photo of the process. Thanks for the reminder!

I need to get me one of those embossing pens! That thing is awesome! I love how the embossing turned out for it!!

This is just the sweetest tradition, every year I see them write I want to write a letter of my own. I just might do it too. :-)

I love those candy colored buttons! Please share who makes them!
They are Winter Wonderland enamel dots (My Mind's Eye). http://bit.ly/WyF7fZ

Ali-when you print out the "dear Santa" circle (and other digi files) are you printing them on photo paper or that matte presentation paper? Thanks!!
That one I printed on photo paper - I've done lots of different things - really up to you.

I love how the embossing pen turned out! I'll have to ask Santa for one of my own!

I am really loving the 6x4 format this year. Very simple but very effective! Kudos to Studio Calico for making up the Binders for this year! and to YOU for the great idea!

Cute! Love the "2x2" layout!
Those letters are so much fun to read and remember. My 5-year old daughter is learning to write and some parts of the list we just had to think over and over again what she meant but then we finally understood her cutest spelling. And the funniest entry on her list this year - "Coca-Cola" :-) (she and her brother have just this year learnt to like this "important" drink :-)

Love these day's spreads. I also really enjoyed Anna's take on Deck the Halls.

This might be a silly question, but when you purchase the December Daily 2012 overlays, are you able to edit the text to be able to use them in future years? Or are they only good for use in 2012?

Your pages are always gorgeous! Question though, how did you make the dots across the bottom of your layout? Are those embellishments or was that some sort of paint? They're very pretty!
They are embellishments that came with the Studio Calico kit - kinda like candy dots. They are Winter Wonderland enamel dots (My Mind's Eye). http://bit.ly/WyF7fZ

Thank you for inspiring me to make my own December Daily book this year. I was sharing my book with my dad tonight and he said, "That's a pretty cool project" and making different remarks on the pages and photos. I love it when he asks me about it and wanting to see my progress.
Thank you!

Could you please touch base on the cutting of the December with the heart on the Silhouette?? I have the Silhouette and ordered the December sentiment, but not quite sure how they work together? THANKS!!
Hi Peggy - here's a tutorial about working with my products and the Silhouette: http://aliedwards.com/2011/12/december-daily-2011-day-three.html

Just a quick question. Did you add the 'Dear Santa' in PS before printing, your after and then attach to the collage? Wondering if I can create the white background with red brush and then digitally cut it out and put it on the picture before printing? Or if it is easier to just print and then put it on the picture :)
